Since it's a translation to portuguese and no one on the rest of world cares about, the main post will be in portuguese... Could we be allowed to speak in portuguese here?

[TRADUÇÃO EM PAUSA / TRANSLATION PAUSED]

    About [English]:

This is a translation of Pokemon Platinum to portuguese, we took and abandoned project by Maldonny and Sidney P1 and we are going to finish it.
The plan is to make a full translation, with some localization to the text.
    Already on patch:
    -Graphic 100% translated
    -Texts about 65% translated
-Character names will be the japanese ones, pokemon the english names
-Some features like height display changed to metric instead of Ft and weight changed back to Kg, instead of Lbs
-Text entry got accentuation and more symbols,so if your name is João, now you no longer need to use "Joao" :v
    Planned:
    - Cities names localization.
    - Translation of items and moves .
    - Event items ingame
    - More events additions?(we are looking if possible)

Everything already done and planned can be changed (even the team's name :v)

Shouldn't it be easier to just use the spanish version (Mexico/Spain) as a base, instead of English?

It's quite hard to understand and some words are similar but means different things, example:
    Pasta = Folder (Pt)
    Pasta = Italian Food (Es)

It also means Italian food in Portuguese. Do note that there is a difference in Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese, also, since European Portuguese is harder in a sense, it's easier for European Portuguese speakers to understand Spanish as a whole.

Anyway, I'm not a big fan of Pokemon (sure, I buy all the games, but they're just good as a time killer), but if you need help with translating something, I can help out. Given that Pokemon usually has an easy script, the translation is extremely easy (if done from English, if from Japanese, it would be hell).

Well, Portuguese is a lot similar to Spanish, but we prefer using english because a lot of reasons, including all of the translators (as well as me) speak and understand more english than Spanish, and would be awful to keep checking a "spanish to portuguese" dictionary for difficult words that are not similar to portuguese

    retarded? don't say that XD

Well actually some Portuguese guys asked me but when I was needing help I looked from them and just one told that would help(In some parts I wanted stuff to sound more " polite", european portuguese sounds like this for us, in reading XD), but latter that was too busy to and can't help...
I would be happy if they wanted to use our translation as base for a Pt-Pt one.
But to say the truth it's cool.. yeah but no much needed(as fan work, I say), we can play Pt-Pt games without much problems, same goes for our Portugal pals with Pt-Br translations I think, just some words are different or may sound strange/funny (like "pirilampos" , I saw a gameplay of the last of us in Pt-pt, here we call firefly as "vaga-lume", and it sounded funny for an organization xD) the worse issue would be if it have new voice acting , we could still understand but it's really different for us :v
anyway would be nice having two version of portuguese here, and more people to work with some terms translation like the moves and stuff
