Hi everyone,
I've been a huge fan of Animal Crossing since I was a kid. I absolutely love the series, especially New Leaf, which I consider one of the best games ever. Recently, I decided that I want to translate Animal Crossing: New Leaf into Brazilian Portuguese because I believe it would make the game more accessible and enjoyable for many Brazilian players.

I know this is an ambitious project and it will take a lot of time, but I’m willing to put in the necessary effort. I already have a good understanding of English and a deep love for the game, but I don’t know where to start with the translation itself.

Could someone guide me on the first steps? What tools and programs do I need to use? How do I extract the game files for translation and then reinsert them? Any tips or tutorials would be greatly appreciated!

To edit text, you are gonna Kuriimu2 to extract MSBT files from the USMBT files, and Kuriimu(Yes, you need both) to edit the text within those MSBT files.

and to load your mod, I recommend LayeredFS, you can even only include modified files to cut down on the weight(and you should, including unmodified filles can lead to piracy, and that's no good)
