I backed up my copy of Smash Bros and the save file. I can load the game fine in Gateway mode, but I can't seem to use the save file that I backed up. It says the save is corrupted and then makes a new one.

I copied "AXCP.sav" to the SD card and renamed it "00040000000EE000.sav".

How do I get the game to load the save properly?

EDIT: I think I might have found the answer here:

As long as it's named properly it should work with a rom on the gateway. If not you should be able to rename the save to that which is SDF and then flash it to the mounted game which will probably show as "broken".

The problem is smash uses 6.x encryption and the old methods will not work. For smash you need a new 3ds + gateway + cubic ninja + NTR CFW 2.1 + save manager plug in and Savedatafiler. Or o3ds 4.x + NTR cfw 1.0 + save manager plug in and savedatafiler. nope I was confused on that.

It works. With that you can move between retail cart .3dz and cia all you want.

EDIT: The man is here. Do what the MelonMan says.
