I tested this exact method and these steps - the Switch save games are not readable on PC (or XBOX or PS or Steam). Going the other way does not work either. I tried with the latest software updates and older, and Switch OS 16, 17 and 18.I just did the proces from PC to Switch, what I do was the following:
1- Entered to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Phoenix\Saved\SaveGames\NUMBER FOLDER\
2- I edit all the files, deleting the .sav, as mentioned up in this post.
3- On Switch I back up the save.
4- On PC, entered to your Switch SD Card\JKSV\Hogwarts Legacy\BACK UP WE JUST CREATED
5- Copy all the files you rename without .sav
6- On Switch, go to JKSV, and restore the folder where you put the files (should be the same name with the date)
7-Enjoy your game with the progress sync.
I haven't tried to transfer the save from Switch to PC, but I guess is the same process, just copy the back up you created with JKSV on Switch and then add the .sav to all the files, then put it in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Phoenix\Saved\SaveGames\NUMBER FOLDER\
Hope somebody helps it!
Restoring a switch save to PC using this method doesn't work for me. I get the list of saves coming up to load but when you select one it boots back to title screen. I'm using the latest version of the game on both Switch and PC also.I just did the proces from PC to Switch, what I do was the following:

Hi , how can i remove .sav from the files ? I can't do that i don't know why. ThanksHello,
I've tried to do this but every time I attempt to transfer the saves (checkpoint, jksv, dbi) I get an error from the actual save transfer tools. I have done the remove ".sav" from the files. I have no problems transferring over the og switch save back. When I use dbi though, I can successfully transfer one part of the pc save but it shows 0 kb and disappears when I close dbi. Could it be that my pc Hogwarts save is 12mb? Is there a limit to file sizes for save transfers?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
