I came in here expecting fanboy responses and you guys didn't let me down!

Man if he already has a DS then the logical choice is a PSP, more gaming is a good thing! Who cares about the DS lite, I have a DS phat and a PSP, whilst my wife has a DS lite. I never go and get her DS lite to have a game as the difference is not that big a deal to me.

PSP as already stated has tonnes of emulation options, plus PSX plus a lot of great PSP games.

You're asking what is essentially a Nintendo fan forum about something like this... what kind of responses were you thinking you'd get?

Also, get a DS Lite. PSP's only claim to fame is PSOne emulation (oh yeah I totally want to play all of those mediocre games I missed out on back then, they've really aged well with the dithering and all). It has no original games worth playing.

what are you stupid?
the answer is obvious.
The answer is "9/11 Is A Cover up"?!

I'd go with the PSP. Get a Memstick, mod it, and put tons of home brew shit on it.
You already have the DS.
It doesn't matter that something is fat and worn as long as it works; why do you think I married the fat disgusting woman? For her fat pussy! That's right! It still works like a charm, even though it's very old and hairy. Here's some pictures;

[EDIT:] Just noticed the board allows for pictures larger than 32x32 to be posted. Here's a bigger version;

Uh...

1. Buy PSP
2. Rent game from Blockbuster/Gamefly
3. Play game and decide.
4. Return PSP or keep it.
5. ????
6. Profit!

Age for truth : Once the newer version of the PSP comes out, hordes of idiots will pawn off their first-version PSPs, allowing stingy bastards like you and I to grab one cheap. Which will leave you with enough leftover money for a DS.

Although, I would definitely recommend the DS; more games, and since you're gonna pirate shit on it, your flashcart will allow you to view movies, listen to MP3s and watch porno pictures on the go. The PSP's screen is sexy, yes; But I noticed that when you're into a movie, you don't really care about the screen size; you care about the movie!

Luckily I have a PSP and DSL, in my opinion, i like both of them for different reasons, the graphics on the PSP are awesome, DSL can never compare in that regards, but the DSL has alot of fun addicting games. So if you can get yourself a PSP, also Tigerdirect has a refurbed PSP for $129.99, which is not bad. I also recommend trading in your phat DS and getting the DSL, my daughter had the phat DS and now has a DSL, and man the phat DS sucks compared to the DSL.

Also what kind of games do you like to play? RPG's, Sports, Action, ect? Just wondering.

In regards to bricking a PSP, i bricked a PSP(was lucky enough to RMA it thru Sony to get a new one), only because I was impatient and turned off my PSP when updating the firmware, there we no prompts on the screen as to what was going on, so i thought it was done, but this was back in the days before updating your PSP now is so much easier, i just updated one a couple days ago, its been 6-9 months since ive done one, and it was to easy, had no problems at all.

Unless your neighbors are DoD on the left and Razor 1911 on the right, who the fuck needs to "protect" their wifi...

Heh, that one gave me a good laugh.

Please wait while I download child porn over YOUR internet line and you get convicted for it...

Yeah, that happens everyday, go ahead.

A lot of folks will be like "DS LITE YEAH!!!"

But it's up to you - PSP is easy to mod as much as the DS.

PSP - Graphics and Media and Emulation

DS - Gameplay and a lot of First Party support.

PSP got more usefull aps...
But the Nintendo DS have alot og funny games and are more easy to hack ;P

And many kinds of firmware downqraders are fake and bricks the PSP.

I vote for the DS Lite with R4 + EZ 3-in-1

If you didn't have either, I'd have said DS lite.
But with perfectly playable quality DS Phat, I'd have to suggest PSP.
Personally I don't see a big merit of PSP Slim/Lite and the uncertainty of custom firmwarebility makes it less worth waiting for in comparison to getting NDS Lite/PSP Phat now.

Maybe wait until PSP Phat price drop, I'd expect another price drop on PSP phat just before or at PSP Lite launch.

Summary:
NDS Lite: Get it whenever you want.
PSP Phat: Wait until PSP Lite launch in case of price drop.
PSP Lite: Unless the new features are a big merit to you, stick with cheaper PSP Phat, make sure it's custom firmwareable before buying.
