LesMcQueen said:The issue here is that the touch-screen is part of a 'sandwich' between the LCD screen, a layer of acrylic, and the bezel/frame.
This has to be prised apart and reassembled.
I'm still in two minds whether to have a go myself (Replacement touch-screen should be here any day now) or to just send it back to Nintendo and pay the £30.50.
All the disassembly guides show the DS being stripped down to the touch-screen, but stop short of showing the LCD/Touch-screen/Acrylic sheet being taken apart.

Its one LCD screen on the bottom and the touchscreen is the little seethrough pane directly on top of it.
Its not "sandwiched" between anything, unless you have a screen protector.

Ah, I see now. Other guide talk of an acrylic sheet. Maybe they mean the actual touch membrane.
So it's a case of....
1. Strip down the DS to the LCD/Touch-screen.
2. Peel apart the touch-screen from the LCD
3. Replace with the Glass TS from DealExtreme
and possibly refit the bezel.
Does that sound right?
