If your downloading a file over 6 or some gigabytes, I think they'll realize what your downloading.

I think you're a bit ignorant. There are many legal activities that would constitute to such a bandwidth use. Hosting a server for example, or doing work through remote desktop. And of course lets not forget all the free and open source files available online.

Hosting a Server would mean you would be uploading. Not downloading

And yes show me an open source OS/ Program thats about 6 Gigabytes.

All servers aren't for hosting files dear.

Who says its necessarily just one thing? I'll indulge your request though.

Possessing illegally obtained copywrited material carries less of a penalty than distributing it, which is what you're doing by using BitTorrent to obtain Wii ISOs. This is the same reason the various organizations target the chip stores rather than the chip owners.

Think of it in terms of illegal drugs. You will get in more trouble for selling pot then you will for having a bit of it at home (unless its a very large bit that they feel you are trying to distribute).

Now that thats settled, heres a good link for anyone looking to get into Usenet.

http://shsc.info/NewsGroups

With SABnzbd, you can have it automatically pull files from RSS feeds the moment its up (e.g. weekly shows), and unrar + delete the RARs automatically once its done downloading. Runs in web browser too, so very minimal resources are used.

it's easy to find games, movies, applications on irc, they're hosted on servers you input a command and you get the file(s) of your choice, some ir channels require you to queue depends on what sort of access the irc channel has in the first place, it's anonymous and it's fast and you don't need to share anything back in order to get something, that's torrents. when was the last time you used irc for downloading any media?

so if it's easy then why have i spent the last hour trying this irc and getting nowhere? i can't find any list of servers to download any games from (from google anyway), i can't search the list of servers withing mirc and i have to scroll down some verrrry long list, there is no way of telling what is in these chat rooms, anyways if you can please PM me because i have no idea what i am doing with this program.

@jalaneme (and anyone else interested):
Download mirc from www.mirc.com. When you have installed it and filled in your nick and infos (don't use any real info) type /server irc.efnet.net in the STATUS window, or select a random EFnet server from the drop down list. Once you are connected type /j ndstemp in the status window. This will make you join the nirvana that is #NDStemp.
Once you are there, type either /query Thug4L1f3 hi or /msg Thug4L1f3 hi, and I will show you the rest from there.

[-EDIT-]
Theres quite a bit of misleading info in this thread, for a start mirc has no quota or ratio system, you download from fserves, not servers, which 99% of the time, are just running on someone elses comp, like an ftp if you will, only accessible by ANYONE who knows the 'trigger' (found in chan). You certainly don't HAVE to give anything back if you don't want to, and you don't upload as you download as your just downloading from somone else's PC. Theres no limits to useage except for what the fserve owner may have set (usually just anti hammering precautions etc.).

Usenet is expensive

No... no it's not!
You have to shop about, prices vary a lot, sometimes drastically.
I used to use giganews, one of the best providers out there, but it became expensive, so I switched to www.newshosting.com (reccomend to everyone, premium service, gr8 price) which is £8/$15 p/month for UNLIMITED useage, not 50 or 100G, but UNLIMITED. Basically go nuts, grab all you can in a month. With the growing sizes of various medias nowadays, unlimited is a must for any amateur or serious pirate. I think it also has 60 or 90 day retention (can download files up to 60 or 90 days old).
Remember usenet doesn't just have games, it has EVERYTHING listed on sites; movies, games, apps, dox and much much more. Basically if you can't find something it's either too old or doesn't exist.
Remember usenet WILL max out your connection, no matter what speed your on.
Most providers offer a free trial for a day or two.. nothing to lose, give it a go!

[-EDIT2-]

No takers?
I'll be on for another 4hrs if you decide to try it out. If you can't connect for some reason PM me on here and explain whats happening.
