ROM Hack Torrent/download client for DS?

I was thinking, is there some kind of torrent client for the DS? I know that the speed will be a bit low but I was just wondering...

You would obviously transfer them from the PC to the flashcart.

Doesn't really matter though. It would still be completely useless.

Using the internet ? I read on a DS Spec Page that the DS can transfer 256 KB/sec when connected to the internet. (anyone wanna confirm this ? ) This wouldn't be enough to download "WTF how big is this" torrents from torrentsites...

Although normal downloads should work.

Um, actually, if the dslinux guys port it, there could be a bittorrent client (for CLI of course), then, you'd just have to wget the .torrent file. Or grab it using retawq/links

I can imagine one or two scenarios where this could "SAVE YOUR LIFE", but I must admit that one (or two) of the scenarios involves porn.

EDIT : hell, if you're smart enough, I bet you could compile it right now, couldn't ya?

Well, it could be usefull for e.g downloading at night without leaving the PC on. You could get an external hard drive and plug it in the switch/router and get your ds to put your files to that location. But it would be very difficult I guess

I personally think if you put a decent torrent client on the DS, such as uTorrent, then get a file that can search files,a nd copy other files from the Ds to a certain place, like PSPFIler. Then I can see it having some sort of use.

Oh definitely. I'm sure if you fall into all the below categories that you'll love it.

1. Don't own a computer.

2. Own a wireless router.

3. Enjoy downloading files at a ridiculously slow pace.

Absolutely, but I think you'd be better off setting up your own porn server. I'm tempted to do it, just to cheese off the naysayers, but ultimately, I'm dissuaded by the horror of your Life-Saving-Porn scenario.

Have you tried transferring a large file with DSFTP or LilouFTP? It is damnably slow.
