wii sports should be out of this list anyways since it is bundled in every console they sell in eu.
but honestly some of those numbers make you wonder.

While it is bundled outside of Japan, even if you take those out, they've still sold 3 million copies in Japan and hence would make the list

It technically is really because WiiPlay was a $10 gimmick package to sell a Wii controller so people could try out the motions, and the Sports title as stated and obvious is a pack-in. SMG 'technically' is the highest selling Wii game as it did it on its own merit without a system or a second controller (you basically need anyways packed with it to move it.

Most that buy a Wii who aren't totally alone on it will get Wii Play as it's just $10 more and you get some good/bad little demos with it so you can write that one off quite easily, though if the controller were 1/2 the price of the game and it kept moving you could make a partial case but most of Wii Play were done when the Wii controller was $40 and it was $50...now it's $35/50 I believe.

The only reason anyone bought WiiPlay (including me) was because Nintendo was hoarding the Wiimotes to include with the game so the only was to get another Wiimote was to buy WiiPlay.

Was Carnival Games bundled in with crap?

It irritates me to NO END that stores in the US are bundling stuff STILL in 2008. I was just in Frys Electronics last week and I saw 3 Wiis just sitting there... I went to pick one up for a friend who has been looking forever. Sir, you need to purchase them in a bundle... Um, they are just sitting here, I don't want a bundle, I just want the console. If I buy the bundle can I just return all the games since they will be on the receipt? No. Argh. No one wants a bunch of shovelware titles and fake accessories for WiiSports.
