Just curious if anyone is having this issue.

I bought the 3ds day one and this issue just started a few days ago from today.

the bottom screen 'border', the raised indention, has caused small scratches on the top screen. they're perfectly aligned with the bottom 'border' and the exact size.

they're small and not long scratches but they are noticeable

at first it thought it was just debris from my pants but i wiped and clean off the screen many times and those scratches/blotches are still there.

tried to take a picture of it but my camera makes it blurry and you have to use the glare to really see it.

I had noticed the same thing, except that it was dirt on mine in the exact shape of the bottom screen, no scratches. It wiped off.

ya, exactly what i thought and first it was just dust but after awhile, it actually scratched the screen.

How did they miss this?

It livable, but they're not off the hook for this.

Anyway funny if the "lite" has the same issue or another one never comes.

I have yet to have this issue. Question, do you have a tight hinge with no wobbles at all?

I just want to see something.

I keep the little white pastic/sheet/foam protector in my 3DS whenever I have it closed to avoid this issue. People did not believe me before when I said that it will eventually scratch the screen. Screen protectors help also, but they will get scratched too. I'd rather just keep that plastic foam protective piece in there and be certain that it never scratches anything.

N really screwed up this thing. With ALL the huge amount of issues that people are having, they better be working on rev2 already to fix the mistakes.

I haven't gotten any scratches yet, but dust from the bottom screen does seem to spread to the top screen when closed, and dust could lead to scratches.

Haven't had scratches (yet), but i am getting smudges from the raised area that wipe off.

Also sometimes get a circular smudge to the left of the screen, which is obviously being left by the circle pad.

I normally don't bother with screen protectors on the top screen but i think it may be needed this time.

Oh, by the way. This isn't something Nintendo missed. Or an actual mistake.

This doesn't mean a "3DS Lite", Nintendo is very aware of this, that's why they added the protector in the first place.
It's actually pretty obvious that this eventually happens. Laptops use the same thing because the keyboard scratches the screen.

I'm not saying there won't be a system revision. I'm just saying this won't be the reason. Maybe this won't even be changed.

Whatever man if laptops do the same thing and this is the best design they could have come up with at
the time then fine.

I'll just protected with stuff like a plan to do anyway.

Not going to let this design flaw stop my enjoyment.

I just use my warranty near the end of it year.

well if you have put it in your pocket maybe the scratches were made from it
i only experience some dust in the upper screen from the lower one but they are completely removable

edit: i just put my protective thingie that came with the 3ds back at its place hahahah
i dont want a damaged screen before i can play persona and zelda on it xD

That's the nice thing about this design flaw, it gives you an excuse to get a replacement whenever you need it.

(when it's under warranty, that is)
