Tool for encoding small strings to shiftJIS, EUC, unicode and utf8

    Browsing romhacking.net forums I came across this thread:

    Which led me to this tool from Ryusui (the same person also made "thecheat" which is a highly customisable display for text so you do not need a cart/emulator):

    Obviously you need something else for full translation but for simple string replacement/tweaks this is pretty nice.

    all of this can be done with oneliner in python or most programming language, for example utf-8 to shiftjis shown in hexadecimal :

    print ''.join(map(lambda c:'%02x'%c, text.decode('utf-8').encode('sjis')))
    but perhaps if can't code, it could be useful...
