what i do :

1. Quickly take the NDS out of the water.
i think my nds being underwater for a minute or two. i kind of stunned seeing my nds drop into water and professor layton still playing there >_<

2. then i Imediately turn off the NDS, eject the game card.
3. then just remove NDS battery using screwdrivers. (then quickly look for camera lol)
4. dry using hairdryer (both ds and gamecard). then put battery back
5. play again.

my AK2i also wet, the sst chip looks completely wet, and its still work

Sounds like you really kept your wits about you. If it were me I would've been still shocked, staring at it, and watching it die. Hahaha...

I am surprised that it survived. From various blogs that I have read on the internet they all recommend putting the electronic equipment in a ziplock bag of uncooked rice. The rice would absorb the moisture. I am happy that things worked out for you.

Immersing wet electronics in 90% isopropyl alcohol can save long term damage from occuring, the alcohol absorbs the water and evaporates very quickly (compared to water). My wife dropped her Motorola RAZR in a lake a few years ago and I did the alcohol thing - it's still working.

I prefer to dry the components (rice or alchohol or whatever) and then wait a few days. I mean, it can't fry the circuits if no current is flowing through them right?

Yeah, my DS would have been a goner, I don't think fast in situations I should. My dads camera dropped in the ocean while me and him were fishing, we just put the camera in a bag of rice. It worked surprisingly, it felt like it would not work. Anyways, nice DS save!

Using a blow/hair dryer is usually a bad idea. Heat isn't good, and you are suppose to let it air dry for a few days to minimize damage.

Otherwise, it sounds like you got lucky, good for you

And yes, that is an AK2i
