The sequel is apparently much better. Haven't played either, admittedly.

I love the KoF Series (modded my PS2 so I could import King of Fighters XI, if you're a fighting game fan, pick it up), but never really could get into the EX series on GBA. While all neogeo games only have four buttons, it still needs to be four face buttons to really be able to pull combos like you can on arcade/console. Not to mention this particular games fighting engine is based on KoF 2000 (with strikers), and while nice, it would have maybe been nostalgic and fun to have the advance/max modes of KoF98.

I like Moe's character as well and hopes she makes it into a mainstream KoF one day, but who knows if Artoon holds the rights to her or not.

So while fighters are my favorite genre, I'll be among the first to admit, as far as traditional fighters go, the GBA wasn't really well suited for it.

Nope not by the makers of Street Fighter! SNK made this not Capcom. The sequel is much better and I still think its the best GBA fighter. I'm hoping SNK will bring some kind of compilation to the Wii like its doing with Metal Slug.
