i couldn't really get into this game, i dunno why.
does the game get better later on, or does it just kinda drag the whole time?

It honestly doesn't get MUCH better. I would say, if you want to play a great BoF game, then go II, then I would play III, then IV. V is just crazy niche and you have to have a certain taste to enjoy that game.

I've played and finished all the BoF games except for BoF V (cause I don't got a PS2). I'd have to say that my order of favorites for the series is:

II>III>IV>I

Although, that doesn't mean the first BoF game isn't good. It's VERY good, just not as good as the others, in my opinion

This is, in my opinion, greatly better than BOF2. I've only played 1 and 2 but I think the first is a lot better.

1 is way too cookie cutter. 2 is way more fun.

I wouldn't say 1 was cookie cutter. The first BoF game had LOTS of new and innovative additions that RPGs at the time had never seen. But 2 had all of those, and more. I liked the story of 2 better, and 2's Nina is my favorite Nina over the whole series

I didn't really like 3's Nina, and 4's Nina was REALLY bad. 1's Nina was fairly decent, but too typical. I like 3 after 2 cause the dragon system of 3 was amazing. I just loved the transformations some of the other characters could do as well. 4 had a weird dragon system at first, but later on, it became quite good as well (but not as good as 3). 2 had the worst dragon system, but everything else was awesome. 1 had a decent dragon system.

I meant it was cookie cutter as in obvious, "go to A to get B and return to C" gameplay.
