I just recently read an article about this game and how it is a new craze in europe/asia.

You need to fill in all the spots with numbers 0-9 PineappleH: 1-9, but the numbers cannot repeat in any vertical or horizontal line.

I haven't tried it yet, but once I flash it I can finally play.

I also read there is a normal way of playing and a super hard advanced mode for hardcore people.

Does this game have both of those modes?

Got into Sudoku last year, and thouroughly enjoy it - though it does get a tad boring these days. It's a great logic game though.
http://www.websudoku.com is a nice simple website with puzzles, take a look.

Now Sudoku on the DS would be nice with the touchscreen, even without handwriting recognition (drag and drop numbers).

yep, it's right... it's a very boring and though large trend in europe... it has replaced crosswords in the newspapers...
people play it in the streets.. yep, they sit on a bench and take out a little shit of paper, then they start scribbling...
very annoying IMO.
I've already tried it, I know the rules and all, but I find it absolutely boring and useless.

I wonder why people like it so much

Same thing here.
All people play sudoku.
I find it boring too.
It is a trend and thing that there are even stand alone sudoku portable video games, table games and sudoku only magazines.

Yeah I agree Costello, I didn't find anything particularly engaging in these puzzles. Completed the first one I ever tried in the tube on the way to work, did another the next day and that was enough for me.

I suppose it's an interesting enough diversion if you're bored, but I'm never that bored. Especially not when I have my DS handy

Just not my cup of tea I guess.

The point is it's a challenge, and people enjoy the logic involved. If you find it boring, try one with a harder difficulty. Different difficulties require different levels of logic. I guess it's just something to keep your brain active.

I also don't get this sudoku hype in europe: for me it's not logical but boring. where is the logic in the game? it's all about watching and trying but not a bit of thinking.

I partly agree with you, i played some on different newspapers and they are fun for a short while and i must admit somehow addicting, but they are very simple and all you do is counting and looking for the right number to put in the boxes... some people think they are really smart, because they can do them, but i think they're not, every child could do them if you'd explain it.
It's a fun game like solitaire or mindsweeper but nothing too special. To wrap it up for you... it's just simple math.

Tried this one? It's french but it looks quite good.

And there's another Sudoku game coming out for the gba in some weeks (Dr. Sudoku).
