Can anyone confirm whether you can choose between kanji text and pure hiragana text on this game, like in Final Fantasy I & II? I might want to flash it, though I'm still playing I & II...

It really is sad that this is only a 32Mb cart, FFoS was what 128Mb? They so could have crammed more content into this pack but then maybe I am just greedy after getting 2 for 1 on DoS? The real reason is that this was published by Nintendo who as we know wanted 20 bucks for their classic NES series and also packaged their marios individually rather then in a MULTI pack. Oh well I bought the first, I'll pass on this one. I hope V and VI are comboed at least.

Umm, Weapon, it's actually 64mbit, trimmed to 54mbit(ish). So I guess if you figure that this isn't 2 in 1 like DoS was, it's pretty okay.

It isn't 2 in 1 because FF3 is coming to the DS. I'm not sure if FF 5 and 6 will be packaged together or not.

My bad I saw 8 MEGS and my math was off, anyway, okay so its 64 which is half of the first, and okay they are doing the FFIII on the DS, but they could have done a Chrono Trigger/FFiV thing but come on thats throwing away 30 bucks, I bet they port all the shit now on 1 packs. They see the demand so they fill it while making as much money as possible. Like I said I can't see why we are all so upset how often does a company release a port with two games? Mario Bros, Donkey Kong, Contra, shit more than 50 percent are single game ports. Guess we just got lucky with DoS

Any answers people can give will only be pure speculation. Like maybe Square recognized that the dated gameplay of FF1 and 2 wouldn't sell as individual games, or being the first Final Fantasy port they weren't certain what the demand would be or how the marketing would work if they attempted them individually.

Maybe it's the simple fact that those were NES games, whereas by modern standards SNES games can warrant individual releases considering their length and depth in gameplay.

Like I said--pure speculation. If you don't think it's worth buying, then don't. But if they don't release 5, 6, or whatever other games you'd like to see, don't bitch later. You can support their efforts or not, either way you're not going to force Square into acting in a manner you believe is kinder by not spending money.

Anyway, all information so far indicates (in other words, this is pretty much a certainty) that FF5 and FF6 will be released and sold seperately. And that isn't happening until later next year, after people have a chance to get this game. It's safe to assume that a comparable period of time will pass between 5 and 6 too.

Owning FFIV, V, & VI on GBA will simply be mint. I can't wait. Adding ToP to the package just sweetens an already amazing chance.

My personal favourite of the FF series is FFIV (4), so if they stopped here I suppose I wouldn't hurt TOO much.
