If my switch has all internet connection blocked, and uses DBI 658, is it still a worry? Does remote code execution need internet, or can that be programmed internally to corrupt based on other factors? I have used TinFoil in the past but been awhile and always thought this was nice because didn't need to update constantly

What is an alternative? It has always worked good so I never looked elsewhere..
TinWoo Installer is what I personally use and never ever have any issues while using it. DBI gave me an issue installing an update while TinWoo worked perfectly fine. The developer of DBI, duckbill, dismissed the issue entirely so I never use DBI nowadays.

When trying to use NUT with TF installs over the network, if I don’t lookup and add the “TitleID” to the filename, NUT doesn’t see it. Is this installer the same way? It's quite an annoying extra step

I don't think I ever had a problem with DBI. Sometimes I do with tinfoil/nut, but I'm always able to fix it by closing everything, deleting everything out of /titledb, then launching nut again. With DBI, I just use the DBI backend, and a USB cable. No problem. I've also setup PHPinfoil on my NAS (Synology DS-420+) and it seems to work well with Tinfoil. There really are a lot of options to choose from.

I only had issues installing DLC with DBI once or twice, never an issue with a game. But after the "bricking systems" the DBI DEV said it has me looking into alternatives..... Loved DBI once I came across it though. Just feeling uneasy about it...

Unfortunately I don't have experience with network installs but USB installs have always been flawless with TinWoo.
