I got this from another gaming forum

Ml5XzXS.jpeg

If this is indeed true, top model is the size of next Switch, bottom is the OLED model of current Switch. It doesn't actually function, this is what was sent out to the companies who are licensed to make accessories for it so they can get exact measurements and have them out on launch day. First thing I noticed is bezels are back. Yuck. Also analog sticks on Joy-Cons look slightly different too, which I expected because they have a patent for something that should eliminate the drift problem.

I hope this ends up not being true, because I still have hope in me that despite being backwards compatible, Nintendo still could put a twist on the New Switch like how they did put a twist on the Wii for the Wii U...

This is just a Switch but slightly revised. Literally nothing is different from the original except one extra button and slightly better analog sticks.

Ah what a time. But yeah we have all the dimensions, wouldn't be too hard to make one.

Theres apparently also a 2nd USB C port at the top, which raises questions about what features it could bring.

Does this mean the analog stick might be modular, and we can swap it easily like on dualsense edge controller?

Yeah i agree that bezel is ugly. Also is that a 21:9 screen? seems wider than the oled

It would be for charging. The inability to charge while using tabletop mode is a big drawback of the current Switch design. Many handheld gaming PCs have adopted the same design.
That said I hope it would still have data support. Doubt much would make use of it though. I'd be happy just to be able to plug in a cable to charge a dead controller while playing tabletop.

Without data support you would have to completely remove the feature of easily transferring images/videos.

But I could absolutely see Nintendo doing it to combat homebrew.

Because games like Mario Party/Kart are played with a single joycon per player, and other players might want to grab a screen cap? Makes sense to me...
So then tell the other person in the same room as you to capture it?

Because of this 0.001% of people we have to have two capture buttons forever?

The bottom port has to have data support anyway, to work with the dock. So it really doesn't make much difference in that regard. It would just be a way to cheap out by not needing a second set of USB data pins or an internal hub chip. Which wouldn't be the first time they cheap out like that. The video out chip they omitted on the Switch Lite costs 20 cents. They could've included it and sold a dock separately, but for some reason they didn't.

Well, with that dull president Nintendo has right now, it would not surprise me to keep seeing things without soul on the market. I really want that guy to pucker up and kiss his rank goodbye, nothing has come out of that guy but suing left and right.
