This is a longshot, but has anyone gotten the New 3DS SMB share working with Mac?

Trying to connect to my New 3DS (using the wireless connection for the MicroSD) on my mac results in a "permission denied" error. Some users suggested using cifs:// instead of smb://, but that didn't work. The 3DS recognizes the connection, but denies the login. Seems to be a common problem (not just for 3DS) on Mac.

So I followed this guide to replace the SMB stack with Samba3:

And I tried again, but I'm no further along.

Anyone get Mac OS X (preferably Yosemite) working with the New 3DS? I really don't want to have to take off the back plate and get a microSD adapter.
