Because they don't want you pirating an old outdated unsupported console.

Edit: apparently it didn't "fix" anything

Just updates to latest firmware and everything still worked properly. Even didn’t mess up cbhc.

Good, longer the support, the better, wouldn't want companies abandoning support for a console I've spent a few hundred on!
Wii U is such a great console, so fun. It'll be retro and fashionable soon probably.

My Wii U isn't telling me to update, so I don't know what you're talking about.

dunno. 5.5.4 in Europe replaced the system.xml, which is what's used in cbhc. all you have to do is reinstall it if that happens.

Heh... I just played on mine yesterday. Not that I've been on the internet with it in the last five years, but ey... Someone's doing a job at Nintendo. :)

It gave us... Stability. In fact, it's now so bug-free it expels any (real) bugs attempting to touch it. :creep:

    (seriously... You're right : w t f)

Nintendo to Sony: So, you're going around patching old consoles as well? I too like to live dangerously.

Emulators : Yes, but to play movies ? Not ATM there is no native media player for WiiU, except if you mean official Netflix or Youtube app.

Oh is that so? That's a shame really. It would have been perfect for that also especially with the remote...

You mean I'm lucky number 7? I play mine daily. Only decent way I have to play any "light gun" games until my Sinden gun ships.

At this point it's become so stable there'll soon be horses moving into it.

disable dns or restore update folder or both. the spoof only works with games, so updating and eshop stuff requires updating or in the case of the eshop nnu patcher.
