Basically I want to know how the badge evolution system works. Any help would be good, or maybe point me in the direction of a guide.

Problem with that is the accurateness, now that I've read through the thread. I guess all we can do is wait for the wiki or any website to be accurate.

Okay, so here's a mini guide.
There are 3 ways to evolve that are: battle, mingle, sleep
How do you tell which one's gonna evolve your badge? Trial and error mostly.

Basically you can get multiple pins that can evolve, I tend to grind and buy 3 of evolvable pins (Just so that I can try all 3 methods, and some pins evolve using multiple methods and the method determines which pin it evolves to)

For now you can post a pin number, I'll answer as best as I can.

Murasame evolves via Mingling PP, meaning majority of it's PP must come from mingling (RED PP) before it's Mastered.

I'm writing a Pin FAQ, but I dunno if I'll continue it... since I'll be busy the rest of the weekend.
    Warning: Spoilers inside!

Ah, nice. I was gonna make one myself as soon as I collect all of them, but I guess I'll just let it pass [IMG]

Won't matter what you finish training it with; only the dominant PP type will matter.

    You get option of "Mingling"

When you enter it, you get PP for receiving DS signals.

Basically if you mingle with other TWEWY players, you get PP.
If you mingle with non-TWEWY players, you still get PP but far less.
If you just keep mingling, you encounter aliens (randomly generated) so you can just play in the middle of nowhere and still get mingle PPs [IMG]
(Play in the middle of Sahara desert and you pick up a wi-fi signal from aliens! OMG!)

For the Japanese version, you get 20 PP per esper and alien, and 3 PP from civvies. It looks like the devs didn't expect Europeans to mingle as much? You get 100 PP from aliens, haven't tested with espers and civvies.

With mingling in the the (E) version, ESP'ers (WEWY players) give you 50 PP while Civvies (non-WEWY players) net you 20 PP.
Also, seem the limit on Mingling (once per day per WEWY player) limit is removed. You can exit from mingling, claim your points then mingle back with the same players.
We were getting 220 points each per Mingle (one DS on Picto-chat lol) thus getting some of the evolutions early.
(ex. Getting the Sweet Talk Tether early which rapes Noises. Evolves from Love Me Tether via Mingle PP.)

Wait wait wait,so I can still evolve using the mingle thing even though none of my friends don't own a DS and I can't play with them?

And I looked up info and found that SDPP are more effective than BPP,like 8 times more,is it true?
And if I do only the last level of the pin using SDPP even though all the others were BPP,will it still evolve?

Not sure about that, since I usually try to get 3 of the same pin (either farming, buying or duplicating via Friend shops) then level them separately.
For Shutdown PP, I save Deck 4 for testing pins and switch to that deck before saving and shutting down.

You can evolve pins by mingling even though nobody near you has a DS.
Just keep your game mingle overnight (It has auto-turn off when the battery is low function, or you can plug in the charger) you'll encounter a couple aliens, each alien gives you 100 PP.

I can't be sure about the 9 times thing is true. It appears some pins require PP of no more than one kind in order to evolve. I just max out entire bar with one kind of PP.

I usually get A LOT of the same pin, because if pins evolve then they don't count as mastered.
    So for example,
Cutie Beam -> BPP Lovely Beam -> SDPP Sexy Beam -> MPP Playmate Beam
    -> SDPP Purity Launcher

This means you need 5 Cutie Beams in order to master all of them. But if you just want a strong pin to finish the game, you'll only need one.
