All that it was was purely a demo of what Unreal 4 could do. Sonic Generations (still the best Sonic game to date) focuses on running at high speed but has lots of detail in the background when you admire whereas a 3D Mario game that's just blurred away, and Sonic Gens isn't even a game of this gen anyway.
Now the latest Mario 3D game (3D World aka 3D Land 2) has a piss poor limited camera and the graphics are all glossy than cartoony.
