If I got some of my MiG shell recreations made from pcbway in transparent would anyone be interested? It’s kind of hard to justify just the one for the price

notice the cut in between the plugging in the device and it showing up on windows?
There's always something weird going on with their devices. :D Even in their UnlockSwitch demo video the error popup appeared after inserting the cartridge.
I really want to believe that they are legit, but only time will tell.

I believe they are legit but they cannot keep up with their own words so they're doing a ton of backtracking to compensate. Just my opinion

From their official website:

08/10/2024: Urgent update for Mig Dumper Windows users
Firmware 1.1.6 brings an urgent update to the Mig Dumper for users with latest Windows 11 23H2, 24H2 or higher version which implement a new Disk Signature Collision check.

With recent Windows 11 updates, Mig Dumper drive will no longer appear because of a Disk Signature Collision as seen above.
Firmware 1.1.6 fixes this, but users with this problem are not able to update firmware because the drive is not online.

To solve this we recommend a few options:
- Borrow an older Windows system from a friend to update Mig Dumper to firmware 1.1.6, or
- Download a Windows 10 ISO and create a Windows To Go USB stick with Rufus, then boot into Windows To Go and perform the firmware update, or
- Download a Linux ISO to launch a Live Boot system to perform the firmware update

If you are still on an older Windows system we recommend you install the firmware to avoid the above problem in the future.

Our sincere apologies to all users affected. Rest assure we will always offer 100% support for our products for the years to come.

I've been out of the loop for a month or so. Have Unlock presented anything yet that aligns with their original promise not to sell anything until the product is in the hands of independent testers? Seems like they are getting close to taking customer's money, but I haven't seen anyone unaffiliated with them, and with a proven track record vouching for them.

They sent out tester units with no software to select people. Not to everyone they promised, and the ones that did get them just reviewed the appearance of the units, since there is no software. Allegedly the software is there, but as far as we know nobody outside actually has a working unit yet.

Exactly! you console have more telemetry than a spacial rocket.
I've seen this repeated by many people on different sites, so don't take this as me questioning you personally, but is there an original source for this claim that the switch logs persist through a factory reset? Maybe someone dumped the internal memory after getting a modchip?

I've got some experience with OS dev and my understanding was that factory resets are conventionally designed to get it back to an actual literal clean slate (besides the device specific partitions for stuff like serial number and wireless hardware MACs). Leaving some files through a wipe creates a risk for bricking longterm and can make it much harder for service techs (though I guess nintendo might give their techs jtag-like hardware debugging methods)

Thanks. I was "present" for the blank sample units, and the announcement they are working with the completely unrelated to them OpenMig team, but just haven't been following maybe the last couple weeks.
