Ah ha thats where all the jokes went!

Yes its very good, very funny too but seeing as we've been watching it for 17 years with 16-20 episodes a season it is a tad predictable. Luckily its more like the Simpsons of the 90's then of 00's what with none of the characters being parodies of themselves. Could the story have been in one episode? No, maybe in a two parter but definitely not one. Is it as good as South Park move? Hell no! Better than any other TV series turned into a movie? Hell yes!

One of my fears was that it would be a movie that was being made just because they haven't done one, well we know it kinda is but it doesn't show. Its very well written, and though it won't be as good as watching your favorite 4 episodes in a row, it'll definitely have funny moments that will feature in your top 20 Simpsons moments.

One thing I'm glad of is that Homer is an adult again, lately I've felt that he was more of a child than childlike adult. Also Marge is the sensible one again.

So overall a success, OK it could've been better had it been done in the 90's, its not as good as "Who Shot Mr Burns?" but its worth going to see as it'll make you laugh and doesn't hold a single dull moment. Also I reckon its one of those films that'll one of those you'll watch again and probably enjoy it even more. In my opinion I don't think they've could've really made a better film at this point in time.

    Pros:
Well written, lots of laughs, some classic moments and never a dull moment.

    Cons:
No Sideshow Bob and kinda predictable at times.
    8/10

Yup advance previews started midnight Tuesday. Fully released here on Friday. Cinema was completely packed too, and the other screens were fully booked up. Saw Transformers too based on opinions here (cinema had like 3 others there) and thought that was pretty good, kinda suffers from the usual Michael Bay wankery though but it was a good popcorn flick and the sequel should be better.

Why the hell are they called "Advance Preview" when its the full film? I'm sure Advance Viewing would suffice.

    Moan moan winge.

I had a very good feeling that this would be a good last hurrah for The Simpsons and it's great hearing that it is indeed this. The show is down right terrible now in my opinion but I'm still planning on going to see this baby.

I love the ad with Spider-Pig. And then later he's Harry Plopper.

Going to see it tomorrow [IMG] (today technically [IMG]) Can't wait! Been a Simpsons fan for life. But after the recent lacklustre episodes I don't have my hopes set to high. Hopefully it's their swan song.

I've skipped all posts in this topic as I don't want to read any spoilers [IMG]

Next - Futurama movie! (*Wets pants in anticipation*)

I am so glad you said its more like the 90's than the 00's. I'm a huge fan, but have started to stop watching the newer ones, but I can recite all the jokes off of the good seasons. I was going to see this regardless of if it was shit or not, but I am relieved to hear it is better than the newer stuff.
