My favorite memory of the Dreamcast is the sound the cd drive makes when you open it and a disc is spinning. The classic noise that sounds like someone is saying "Oooohhhh"

    Wow, time flies.
Not a Dreamcast owner, but I feel kind of sad for this ill-fated thing which has aged rather poorly, overshadowed by their competitors.
9/9/99 Lol what a release date.

Make your dream come true then.

Ironically, I hope Nintendo gets Sonic but I also remembered that Sega also owns Atlus so if Nintendo does buy Sega, I hope it means Persona is also part of Nintendo's portfolio.

Oh who am I kidding, Microsoft will pay up the money and just keep Sega under their thumb.

Still prefer Dreamcast over a Switch.

For the 20th anniversary, I modded my Dreamcast with a GDEMU, GDEMU 3dprinted tray, Noctua fan mod, DCHDMI, rgb LED mod, controller fuse and RTC battery mod and finally had it whitened so it looks brand new.

my DC Gets played every day!

Sega made many mistakes, to the point there are books about it. The pissing contest between Sega Of America and Sega of Japan did not help.

That's all I am gonna say about it.

20 years later I accumulated 8 Dreamcast consoles and the day 1 launch one is still going strong.

The console that introduced me to games. Playing Sonic Adventure and Jet Grind Radio for hours is still burned into my memory. Adventure 1 is still the only game I can play forever over and over without getting bored because its so much fun to break. People complain that "the game is too glitchy" but honestly thats what makes it great. The spindash is so stupid broken that you can jump up buildings and walls with it and thats just the most fun thing ever. This is also the console that gave us Shenmue, still one of the most charming adventure games ever. Its one of those games that just sucks you in. Amazing console and even more amazing games.

    Keep Dreaming

You and me both brother, you and me both.

On topic, I've only got a chance to play a handful of games such as the Sonic games and Marvel Vs Capcom.

I played it exactly once, it was a demo unit at a local electronics store - the only thing I remembered was "wooo, colored buttons!" (and the fact it was gone by next time I went back there...)
