I see the idea rolling around every few years but then someone comes up with a new advancement and it goes back to the drawing board.

This being said having been around medics for some time I can not wait for two of these to be used in a fight.

Anyhow until we get stuff like this:

    and given developments like this:

I am not worried. I may still pack an extra power cell for my EMP rifle though.

I would've called it a real-life Power Suit ala Metroid. But it is a type of exoskeletal suit, so that's pretty neat.

The front page article for a recent Popular Science was about this type of thing. Though, the main story in it was about a US research team that actually had a working prototype that provided superhuman arm strength. however, this was very rough, as it had to be connected to a generator to run, slowed the wearer down, and was rather cumbersome.

But still, they made a supersuit.

I hope the battery pack isn't made by Sony; I don't want it to explode on me.

Is it me or does that HAL suit look REALLY REALLY REALLY stupid? It looks like a kids toy. and whats worse, is you could use it for a halloween costume.

I think that if you're stranded to live on a wheel chair and HAL means that you can get up and walk around, you're going to care less about what it looks like.

having read none of the replies, or even the original post, I'll just say it looks like it can be controlled by wiimote.
