Gaming The "Piccolo" pixel in Super Paper Mario

What the hell does this thing do? Does it only play music? I read that it can "heal"... but what does he heal? Does he heal you while you are poisions or something?

there's blocks throughout the game with a little music note on them. it makes them disappear, revealing stuff. check out gamefaqs for locations.
