So, what you mean is that from now on, all wii releases need to come with the banner, readme and their icon and the relevant folder structure to which each release requires?

Seems smart and would be ideal for now on for all homebrew applications to be setup this way.

Also seems to make it a lot easier for some, so that they can just click and download, and extract to the SDCARD:\apps folder knowing that everything will be in place to just work from there.

It has been stickied at the top and at the first post, it contains all homebrew available for download.

And they have all been setup as well to do exactly what you are looking for.

Lets take the Wad installers and uninstallers as an example. It downloads as bothwadinstallers.zip

Inside that zip file is 2 x folders ( 1 x Wad Installer, 1 x Wad uninstaller)

This is already setup to be extracted straight to the apps folder within the SD card. It contains the relevant items that are needed and will be bootable straight from the homebrew channel.
