Alrighty.. With the same questions being posted all the time about cheats, <b>Elixirdream, Narin and myself</b> have decided to make this thread. In this thread you can ask questions about cheats and such to do with the DS... Below are some frequently asked questions.. Please bear with us as this will be updated quiet regularly when we believe a question needs to be added..

<!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro--><b>Im afraid Ill have to post a few rules..</b>

<b>1.</b> No flaming, arguing or any obscene language to be used please.
<b>2.</b> Please no smart arse remarks
<b>3.</b> Please, the older and more wiser members please help out our newbies and dont make fun of them.. Your were once a n00b too.. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->

Thats just the main rules.. The rest is just common sense.. Anyway, onto the Questions and Answers

<!--coloro:#000080--><span style="color:#000080"><!--/coloro-->It is important for all the newcomers or newbies to know and learn how to use r4cce~! This is a tool that most of us are using it to edit our own database.
It is easy to learn and convinient to use

<b>a)</b> Please refer to my tutorial on <a href="http://gbatemp.net/index.php?act=findpost&pid=1278822" target="_blank">r4cce</a>

<b>b)</b> you can obtain a copy of r4cce from <a href="http://home.usay.jp/pc/soft.html" target="_blank">http://home.usay.jp/pc/soft.htm</a>

<b>c)</b> "I also suggest using <a href="http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=103879" target="_blank">YSMenu</a> a replacement firmware for the R4DS which offers better game compatibility, features and also has better cheat support. YSMenu doesn't cut off any of the cheats and displays all the cheats for all the games and don't have the problems the R4DS has with some cheats. You can use the R4 skins on YSMenu (I used by R4 Themes on YSmenu with no problems) and you can use Moonshell on YSMenu as well."

<b>Q1: I got my cheat codes working for Soma Bringer or Sonic before i patched the rom, but they not working now.</b>
<b>A:</b> When you patch a game, what happens is that the game ID of the rom changes.. Most of the time patched games are included in the cheat file but if not read on.. Use R4CCE and select the Game ID.. Click on the ... and then select the patched version of of your game.. This should fix your problem. For a more in depth answer to this question, check out Question 3

<b>Q2: I got a PATCHED / FIXED version of a game. The cheat won't show up even it is in the database.</b>
<b>A:</b> Use r4cce to check whether the GAME ID is the same as the one in the cheat database. Change accordingly if it is different. Refer to the last question or Question 3 to change your Game ID.

<b>Q3: How to check GAME ID</b>
<b>A:</b> Click Add Game and you will the game ID is something like ABCJ 12345678 and then click <b>. . . </b> located next in between the GAME ID column and DUP? button.
Choose the game which you want to find out the GAME ID ~
After Choosing it Click OPEN
The GAME ID of the game will then changed and display on the GAME ID column
<b>
Q4: Theres this game Im playing and there are not cheats in the compilation</b>
<b>A: </b> Check to see if your game has cheats first.. If so, check your Game ID... Please refer to the game list --> <a href="http://cheats.gbatemp.net/GameList.txt" target="_blank">http://cheats.gbatemp.net/GameList.txt://h...et/GameList.txt</a>

<b>Q5: a) Games like Soma Bringer, Trauma Centre, TWEWY and Yugioh used to be in the cheat database but after the recent update it went missing.</b>
<b> b) Narin why did you remove Soma Bringer after the recent update.</b>
<b>A:</b> First of all, Narin would not remove any game cheats. Unless the cheats works on WIFI.. We do not endorse wifi cheating.
A: IF you are R4 and it clones user, please refer to <a href="http://cheats.gbatemp.net/#notice" target="_blank">http://cheats.gbatemp.net/#notice://http:/...emp.net/#notice</a>
A: It could also be you have a PATCHED / FIXED version of the game~! refer to Q1 and Q2
<b>
Q6: How do i get Yasumenu to work on R4DS?</b>
<b>A:</b> get a copy of Yasumenu
backup your save and game
delete everything/format micro SD card
replace with the downloaded Yasumenu and backup save and game
<b>
Q7: I want cheats. Make this for me now..
A:</b> Manners like that arent going to get you anything.. And if you request cheats in the Massive Cheat Compilation thread you will not get answered kindly, Please Post all of your requests in my thread here ---> <a href="http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=116242" target="_blank">http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=116242</a>

<b>Q8: Im using the Action Replay Code Manger so I can get cheats onto my AR device. I copied and pasted the htlm into the subscription box. It didn't work.</b>
It works for me, all you need to do is add this URL to the Action Replay Code Manager as a subscription
<a href="http://cheats.gbatemp.net/files/Action_Replay.xml" target="_blank">http://cheats.gbatemp.net/files/Action_Replay.xml</a>
The actual cheat xml file is around 10 megabytes so it will take about a 20-30 seconds to download on a fast connection.
<img src="http://i39.tinypic.com/oavrd1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

<b>Q9: I have a Flashcart! I try to get some cheats to work, and they don't! Why aren't they working?
A: The flashcart you are using properly doesn't support the codetype. A Solution is to patch the rom with the cheats. A good guide is located here: <a href="http://www.gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=174309" target="_blank">http://www.gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=174309</a></b>

Alright, Questions will be added regularly like I said.. If you believe a question should be added to the list, please PM me and I will decide if it will be added.

Nice one guys.

@Narin: Do you reckon you could put a link to this page into your first post? That would be nice, that way we can tell the rule breakers to look at the first post and be done with it. Thanks.

Curley,
by the way please add this quoted phrase from Narin

You can use the R4 skins on YSMenu (I used by R4 Themes on YSmenu with no problems) and you can use Moonshell on YSMenu as well.

on the following:-

c) "I also suggest using YSMenu a replacement firmware for the R4DS which offers better game compatibility, features and also has better cheat support. YSMenu doesn't cut off any of the cheats and displays all the cheats for all the games and don't have the problems the R4DS has with some cheats."

Speaking of "read my signature", Curley, "A Helper with Cheat Code Editor" is no longer your "New" thread. xD Yes I know I'm annoying when it comes to this stuff.

QUOTE said:
To use cheats you must have a folder named CHT on the root of your SD card. If you followed install instruction correctly this should already be there. The CHT folder is where all your cheat files(yes plural) will be stored. These cheat files are in the form of .cht and have a certain format.google!this is thread for NDS cheats right??QUOTETo use cheats you must have cheats toggled on(see EZ-V settings) and the appropriate cheat file in your CHT folder. When you select a game that has cheats a new menu will pop up on the touch screen, this will list all the cheats available. Simply scoll down the list toggling on any cheats you want to use, use up and down arrows to go through list and right arrow to toggle on & off. Press A when your done to run the game. Tap the close icon to cancel.

Once in-game you'll notice the cheats aren't active straight away. Press L+R+START(in-game) to turn them on and L+R+SELECT to turn them off
