From the official site http://revolution.nintendo.com/
I'll get my coat
I think I'll just keep calling it Revolution...
Can you imagine going to a shop and saying "Can I have a Wii please?"
Nintendo Revolution named Wii

Nintendo’s next gen console will be known as Wii.
The console, previously known as the codename revolution, has been officially named ahead of further announcements at E3.
A statement from the Japanese games giants today explained: “While the code-name “Revolution” expressed our direction, Wii represents the answer. Wii will break down that wall that separates video game players from everybody else.
"Wii will put people more in touch with their games … and each other. But you’re probably asking: What does the name mean? Wii sounds like “we,” which emphasizes this console is for everyone.
"Wii can easily be remembered by people around the world, no matter what language they speak. No confusion. No need to abbreviate. Just Wii. Wii has a distinctive “ii” spelling that symbolizes both the unique controllers and the image of people gathering to play.
And Wii, as a name and a console, brings something revolutionary to the world of video games that sets it apart from the crowd. So that’s Wii. But now Nintendo needs you. Because, it’s really not about you or me. It’s about Wii."
Lol, we have a lot of 4channers here.
I like the name Revolution, they should have kept it.
I, for one, wil continue calling it Revolution.
I dunno. That would be like saying that people will still call the Gamecube, "Dolphin". Anyways, i bet some will call it, "dubya eye eye".
what a name
Oh dear. I hate it. I seriously hope this is some kind of pre-E3 joke that we'll all laugh about when they unveil the real name...
The name Revolution was cool. It's what it was all about. But Wii? Are Nintendo trying to give more people a reason to hate and/or flame them?
Seems the developers think that there is noone who would dare to try to emulate a console with the worst name possible so they used the worst name possible
And if they want it to sound like "we" why didn't they just name it "we" ?
I aswell hope its just a stupid joke ...
I imagen friends comming to me saying "come on lets play Wii !" V ... thats so ... *arg*
I, for one it seems, think it's pretty cool. It symbolizes the fact that Nintendo is opening this up for everyone to be ableto play games. Not just you and your little brother, but your mom and your dad and your grandparents. Like they're doing with the DS. I give nintendo a pair of thumbs-up.
lol, is this a joke? if so,
damn new name
I don't even know how to pronounce it... I mean, it cant be like "wee" ???! (piss piss)
Oh dear lord, shoot me now.
Revolution > Wii
Just like the good ol' times when everyone thought the Nintendo DS is a stupid idea. If the name really takes up to the market, we all will be laughing how we rejected the name.
HELLO! Have you even looked at the name?
