Back in 2015, Nintendo stopped all of its direct sales in Brazil, reportedly due to huge taxes it had to pay in order to continue its operations. Nintendo fans had to resort to imports and resellers so as purchase Nintendo consoles like the Switch. Recently, the country lowered its import tax on electronic games hardware and could be the reason to attract Nintendo back to resume its sales in the country. The console maker announced today that the Nintendo Switch will officially launch in the country. No time frame was given other than it will be "coming soon".

Cool. Now instead of it being 2400BRL, it'll be 3000BRL.

I know that it is very expensive in Brazil. I feel Brazilians pain but congratulations that they are going to get it in their own country instead of import it.

A new one "only" costs like $500-600 USD (considering the current exchange rate).
Used ones (unpatched) go from $350-$450.

Not good, but not terrible either.

What I want to know is the MSRP of a PS5.

I remember I bought my husband who lived in Brazil at the time a Switch and sent it to him via FedEx. The import tax at the time was 100% but I managed to convince FedEx they had to pay it so I didn't pay shit lmao.

Hmm 3000BRL is roughly $500 USD. I can only imagine how much would a PS5 or a Series-X would cost. People who have family in USA better off having them just ship it to them to avoid all of those crazy fees

They kind of already did with the portable Master system thing with horrible sound. Only reason people bought it was to hack it and add more games.

There was also a portable Sega Genesis but no version of it was really good.

That reminds me I want to buy a Sega Genesis mini...

Would be a shame and weird timing, if another NS revision came out next year.

Weirdly enough, the first thing that came to mind is hey maybe Bandai Namco will see it as an opportunity to push some of the anime game that are massively popular on switch.
Looking at you, Saint Seiya <3
