When the DS was originally released in 2004, everybody had their own opinion about the hardware. Many people said it was too heavy and wasn't bright enough. Nintendo immediately (2 years) addressed these problems with the introduction of the DS Lite, it became a huge success (as if it wasn't already with the DS Phat), so much that Nintendo made a family of these products, the DSi, DSiXL, and 3DS. Due to these recent (2 years) introductions, Nintendo has sadly stopped the production of the DS Lite. RIP, DS Lite.[/p]

This is pretty old (April old), but I haven't seen any topics about it...

Yeah, sooner or later it had to happen.
DSi XL has much better battery, camera and larger screens. So if anyone feels the need for a DS, might aswell go for the XL.

Yep, this was already posted. Gladly, I still own mine, because playing DS games in the 3DS isn't the same...

I felt this would happen awhile back....yet my reaction to this still surprises me. I have only one thing to say to this, but I'm going to let a guest do the honors for me

    Warning: Spoilers inside!

It was such a good little handheld...they killed it....why....why...

The GBA era is officially completely-dead now. Nothing can bring it back from the grave, ever.

    Why....why Nintendo...

R.I.P DS Lite, I never had one. Never liked the DS Lite since I had my good 'ol fat.

    Still R.I.P.

R.I.P DS Lite, your hinge problems will be missed. Also, I still have a DS Phat, but I prefer DS Lite since the brighter light makes colors more vivid. Probably just an opinion.

I don't like any other DSs except the DS Lite because of

    -Squishy buttons
-Pure nostalgia (lost my DS Lite)
-Matte finish with the inside so it doesn't always feel dirty
    -The power on switch
    -Stylus is located perfectly
    -BATTERY LIFE WAS INCREDIBLE.

    Nonetheless.....RIP DS Lite..*sniff*

Your soul will live on with us, and I still have two of ya, one Cobalt, the other one Crimson

Old Crimson has a broken hinge and so lives in a plastic case. Still kinda wobbly but she still works, and I think it makes her look a bit cute. I'm gonna treasure both of them.

Needless to say you shall be missed. I had such fun back when I used it to play Boktai 1 & 2 outside, until I got my 3-in-one and discovered the solar-sensor patch. Heh, maybe I'll go out one of these days and play the real cart again, for old times sake.

Man. I remember years ago working for my grandma for a week in order to earn a new DS Lite after my Japanese fat broke. Still have it and continue to use it.

Yup. It was posted back when it happened.

I still have mine. I don't use it anymore since I have no games and I've given up on piracy but I wouldn't sell it.

Eh, I don't care. You could drop the damn thing and it would shatter into a million pieces of hinge.

I'm satisfied with my 3DS. [IMG]
