The Nintendo 3DS has a new firmware update available in the form of v11.12.0-44

It's stability time! A brand new update is out, for the Nintendo 3DS. Firmware version 11.12.0-44 has just released, bringing with it...well, no one knows exactly what it brings with it just yet. The yls8 page shows the update having gone out for most regions tonight, but Nintendo's official website hasn't updated to show the changelog (and obvious stability additions) as of the time of writing. What we do currently know is, a handful of titles have been updated thanks to this new firmware, including NVer, CVer, StreetPass, friends system-module, NATIVE_FIRM and Web browser data. More information will be added as things become more clear.

UPDATE: And to no one's surprise, here are the patch notes from Nintendo:

Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.

Currently, Luma still boots, but is not confirmed to be 100% working, while other homebrew and CFW are being tested.

b9stool needs to be updated. Passed but hack wouldn't install.
Correct, calculating the kernel partition key via xorpad requires positively knowing (ie having a copy) of the currently installed kernel (which is oversimplified in-app to "only use on version X without B9S installed")

So just a quick update from a little testing on my new3DS:
Luma3DS boots, it does seem to have a slight delay but I have no means of testing that so please don't consider that fact as more of an observation. Signature patches for homebrew and backups are not affected. Layeredfs hacks loaded through Luma3DS are still working. Cheats loaded with Luma3DS appear to be working. Stock Luma3DS GBA patches and TWL patches work just fine and Widescreen patches for DS games are working as well.
Luma3DS users are safe to update
CakesFW users appear to be safe to update, all patches are in working order
Rei-Six users, please either refrain from updating your system or switch to Luma3DS or CakesFW (Luma3DS recommended due to more guaranteed future support.) Crimson and I are no longer working on this project and no further updates will be made to fix this.
@Chary Quick update

Just updated to 11.12.0-44E on EmuNAND, and BootNTR Selector does not work. Everything else seems to work though.

Hi,
Do you have working CakesFW version as bundle? Can I have it? Thanks in advance.

I can not provide it, you will have to dump your own firmware files or locate the latest ones on your own. In all honesty, I would suggest sticking with Luma3DS if you don't want to go through the work locating the firmware files yourself.

I mean the CakesFW bundle without the firms. I'd like to be back to the good old days.
