The New Nintendo website

I like the look, but I don't particularly like the interface. It's not as easy to find what you're searching for (if you're searching for something in particular). But that's mostly due to what seems like a steamlining of everything, so there's not as much available to search through. Also, it's kind of unreliable right now, as far as pages loading and such, but that's par for the course with it being freshly up on the Web.

The one, very conspicuous thing, though, that's missing is any type of forum or hint of a forum to come. I've said it before and I'll say it again (ooh, that's not at all a tired phrase

), I've got my money on the notion that they are in the process of trying to create an online community dedicated to Wii owners and accessible only with a Wii system. It makes all the sense in the world to me. They will, of course, always maintain an online presence (as any company would), but I think they are striving to capture their audience in a much bigger way.

Nintendo, you're done rennovating the site, now can we please bring the community back?

No forum means the site is essentially useless to me. I liked arguing with the kiddies there.

Though, to be honest, once I discovered GBAtemp, my interest dwindled to nearly nothing at NSider anyway, so....meh.

It's also as someone above already stated; their "News" is mostly outdated by the time they post it, compared to the pirate sites.

There's one big thing it's missing; lo-fi / HTML only version. Having a page full of fancy menus isn't much good if the bloody thing takes an eternity to load. The master games list is a nightmare.

I can't understand why everyone misses the Nintendo forums, they were full of 12 year olds posting rubbish ("sign here if you have a black DS! I know i do"), and they were useless to search for game information ("I have nintendogs, my dog's called spot! and he's not a dalmation!"). For a company's official forum they sure as hell were full of trash. (come to think of it I'm talking about Nintendo Europe again, but I bet the US site wasn't far off that).

They redid the European site aswell, guess what... all local sites work besides the one for Belgium... yay nintendo

It loads terribly SLOW.. and I don't like the interface as well.

The connection to server is a bit dodgy, and it only gave me 200 point each for my games that should be 250 before the upgrade
