I would assume it's because Rykin never meant for it to be a full translation. He just wanted to translate some menus and attacks so it would be easier for him to play. It would be down right stupid to translate the entire game, when Nintendo is already taking care of that. Pokemon Platinum is coming out something during next year.

Also, Rykin quit because his thread was full of whiny little brats that only cared about a full translation and hurried him through it. They gave him one hell of a time, so he simply decided to stop wasting his time on them and discontinued the project, which is what any sane human would have done.

Exactly. Plus, Rykin was working by himself, and that's a huge project to take on by one person. A full translatio of the game would require a whole team of people.

About the Xenosaga patch that was removed because it failed; I wondered if the rom filename would matter while patching?
Say, it would only work if it was named xenosaga i-ii.nds and it would fail if it was called 0375 - xenosaga i-ii.nds?
I'm not familiar with the patching tool that was included, so I'm just pondering..
