New Zelda looks better than my description probably makes it sound. Looks like a fairly traditional Zelda portable game, with puzzle dungeons and Phantom Hourglass-style touch mechanics. The train basically works like the boat in PH, running along the overworld (presumably on a rail defined by players). Enemy control mechanics look pretty nice -- link distracted a big Zora with a controlled shadow guard, then snuck around to hit it from behind.

From 1-up live blog it might not be that bad

Anyway, I'm yet to play a bad Zelda game (CD-i ones doesn't count, but I never played them anyway), I trust Nintendo 100% with this train thing

I liked PH a lot, the controls and the game visual was great IMO, I just thought it was too easy.. if they're able to make the same thing with some better dungeons..

From the images it looks like the same engine, meaning the gameplay won't be that different.... The graphics actually look identical... I would have preferred a new Wii LoZ with MotionPlus controls...

Oh man, this is a dream coming true! I love Phantom Hourglass, still find it the most pretty game on the DS, and maybe the best one gameplaywise.
Yes, I'm very glad they are bringing out another game, that's just too awesome!
Didn't really hope for this , but I'm very glad they decided to put another game on the DS.

This is one of the best news I've read in a while (actually since psycoblaster informed me about his ASH translation!)

I'm really looking forward to this game, Zeld: PH is one of my favorite games, and I really really enjoyed it! I know I'll love this game..

Since this IS the official discussion thread, might as well post the trailer shot at GDC:

And you can watch the real high quality trailer through your Wii on the Nintendo Channel.
