The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 delayed to spring 2023

As time inched forward towards the hopeful announcement of anything related to the upcoming sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's sequel, fans became uneasy with the lack of information from Nintendo. That's because the game has been pushed back, as shown in a video update today. Eiji Aonuma asked fans to please wait just a little bit longer, extending the development cycle for the game, and setting it to a Spring 2023 launch window.

Twilight Princess was more or less the same deal too, wasn't it?

Yes. It bridged Gamecube-Wii. Gamecube version's better but that's just my opinion. Skyward Sword was only on Wii, but they've sice given it the "hd remaster" treatment. Then Breath of the Wild bridged WiiU-Switch.

Seriously, came to post this exact thing. Nintendo's playbook must be about 2 pages long, if that.
I'm guessing they'll just have one version that runs enhanced on the Switch's successor, like many of these late PS4/PS5 and Xbone/Series X games. LIke if the only difference will be that it's a similar system but more powerful, then I imagine the benefits the new system will bring to the game will only really amount to higher framerate and resolution. And if it's backwards compatible and able to offer enhanced features when played on the new system, then I don't see why 2 version will really be necessary. Then again, this is Nintendo, maybe they'll throw in something I'm not considering for the next system that would be asking for it's own version.

Nintendo when are you going to release the next 3D Mario game which isn't sports related.
At least we got Bowser's Fury, it may not be a full scale game, but it's a solid 5 hour experience that is able to hold me over a bit longer until the next full-scale entry.

When you think about it, this botw sequel is taking longer to make then the original one.
Botw 1 began development in 2013, and released in 2017, which was 4 years later. Botw 2 however started development right after the original. So, 2017 to 2023 is 6 years! Why would it take longer?

Yep been saying this all along Zelda is a system seller more than Mario now new System just as they did with Wiiu and switch
what? actually no zelda game was ever the top seller on any console...

right now botw is ranking 4 on the switch loosing to mario kart 8 and smash ultimate and animal crossing.

Mario kart is basically the best seller of Nintendo right now from the last 3 or so generations if you care to look, no zelda game ever beated mario kart not even link to the past on snes bested super mario kart sales.

If nintendo makes mario kart 9 a system launch title they can sell alot of unity imo, mk8 still sells a crapload every month and now with dlc announced it will sell even more units for sure.

I hope this means that their ambitions grew higher while developing the game. I would think they'd be high to begin with, there is now more time in development for this game than BOTW, but this one is reusing the already established engine and building off of the already established map. Really makes you wonder what all the dev time has been going into. I'm hoping for elaborate classic style dungeons. I bet with the focus on the sky that we'll be able to fly around on Loftwings, and I wonder if we'll be able to swim underwater. I also theorize that there may be a whole underground to explore as well (maybe these are where the dungeons are), because now that the castle is floating, it almost looks like it might have opened up an entrance to an entire land of caves below. There is potential to really open up an already incredibly open world here. I hope they deliver.

If i may be so bold it's blatantly obvious why it's coming next year. Ding Ding Ding the Survey Says Yuzu we don't want our new games easily played or pirated on a PC!!! Cough Cough New Console to play newer games... I mean really any switch title 0-day or whatever can easily be ran on a PC. I even tested it on 1st gen Intel Xeon X5670 and whalaa 30 or 60Fps depending on the game. It is rather hilarious that a CPU from 2010 can achieve such things right??? Check it out below for anybody who thinks i'm Trolling here is a $7 CPU running the Switch...
