The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 delayed to spring 2023

As time inched forward towards the hopeful announcement of anything related to the upcoming sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's sequel, fans became uneasy with the lack of information from Nintendo. That's because the game has been pushed back, as shown in a video update today. Eiji Aonuma asked fans to please wait just a little bit longer, extending the development cycle for the game, and setting it to a Spring 2023 launch window.

delaying this makes alot of people including me dislike nintendo even more. everything good they have going for them they seem to do something that negates the good. i drove around on launch day for a couple hours to find a nintendo switch and botw. havent really been excited for another switch game since. yes i play other switch games but nothing that i really look forward to like botw. its one of the few games i buy without even waiting for reviews or others to chime in if its worth it or not.

Hope they prove me wrong, but it may be delayed again and again until the next Switch is released.
well if that is true we may not see MP 4 till the next console after the next one after switch
I am hoping for 2036
they will probably release MP trilogy remaster on the next system at EOL then MP4 on the system after that

My money says the Switch 2 won't launch until 2024, I really doubt this game will see an additional year long delay on top of this.
"Zelda Wii U" 2014-2017, BotW2 2019-2023. This has already taken longer than "Zelda Wii U" did lol. I guess with all that's been going on in recent years though, it's not entirely surprising.

I'm not sure we can compare them all that well, either way. The Wii U was a failed console that Nintendo was trying to push out of the way as soon as possible. The Switch though, that thing is *still* printing money despite most of its library consisting of half-a-decade or more old ports + low-effort first party titles. I'd be surprised if they'd be willing to jeopardize that by releasing a successor yet.

Yeah, the Switch is underpowered and there is a loud group of people asking for a successor with stronger hardware, but as long as the current thing is still selling so well, it makes more sense financially to keep it around for as long as possible before moving on to the next thing.

Then again, it's Nintendo. Who knows what's going through their minds most of the time. They have a history of wacky and sometimes questionable innovations.
