You must delete "sound" folder to bring back Japanese dubbing and "t_vctiming.tbl" file from "romfs/data/text/nx/" to bring back original lipsync.

Anyone know if this will work on the MIG Switch Flashcart?

Potentially interested in importing the first two Cold Steel games to use with one and the translation patches

I created an account just to say thank you. I badly want to play the series on switch. Now I can because of your magnificent work. Thanks again!

weird on my end is.....my game crashes if i use this....without patch it works... using v.1.0.3
Got the same issue. Used Hekate to fix the archive bit, but still the same issue.

Is there a way to get logs from the Switch to know what's wrong on my side?

EDIT: I tried to cheat myself out of this by taking off the "exefs" folder, but it gets me stuck into a "Now loading" screen when I try to save, probably because of the "infinite loop" you mention on Github. However, once I reach Trista and only have Rean with me, I can save.

EDIT 2: More stuff I tried:
- Checked my game I was on version 1.0.3.
- Used version 1.0 of the patch.
- Recompiled the exefs Plugin myself.

EDIT 3: Even more stuff.
- Checked my setup: I'm on FW 1.8.1.0 and AMS 1.7.1, and I got the latest sigpatches.
- I updated the Skyline "include" and "linkerscripts" folders, and recompiled.
- I tried a "minimal recompile" without calling `CS1_Main()` from the hook, still crashes.

No idea where to go from there @masagrator, any thing I can compile/run from my console to get a proper debug of why the patch crashes for me, I'm game :)

First: as others have said, thank you so much for everything on this mod. Second, I'm sorry to necro this thread.

I'm having the same issue as someone else: English Dub but all text is Japanese. After this initial partial success I tried completely deleting the "contents" folder (inside of atmosphere) & tried re-extracting all files there. When that failed, I also overwrote the "atmosphere" folder as your readme instructs (this is the only modded game I'm working with). This, unfortunately, has not made any difference.

To make sure I'm understanding correctly: in the Readme when you say "you must first download main release" - do you mean to unpack the "ToCS1-ENX-1.2.7z" file? Then you simply unpack the ENG_DUB atop it?

I haven't tried installing any of the prior versions of the mod, I've only worked with v1.2 - TYVM for your time!

Edit: issue resolved, see post below.

Uploaded update for 1.2 version of mod fixing saving settings from Hidden Menu. It seems like deleting file is async from some FW update and it was unnecesary from the beginning to do it, so I have deleted the line that was causing issue.

Dunno what you are doing, but translation itself works on my machine™
Without ENG DUB (Running with 540p, GPU Boost and 60 FPS enabled)

With ENG DUB

@RedL that was a poor choice to recompile it yourself since this plugin cannot be compiled properly with GCC newer than 10, and currently the newest one is 14. Game will run, but trying to access Hidden Menu would freeze game. :D

So far, game doesn't even run at all for me, always getting "This software cannot be started" as long as the `exefs` folder is there (be it with the one from your patch, or my recompiled ones).

Other infos about my setup:
- Starting atmosphere (EmuMMC) with fusee.bin.
- No plugins are on.
- Installed the game on both Internal Memory and SD Card (since it's an EmuMMC, it's the same, but just in case).

I've checked on Ryujinx with the same firmware revision and my prod.keys, and there, the patch works perfectly ^^,

Just wanted to mark my prior post as resolved. Looks like the unpacking & copy/pasting the "contents" folder in macOS was causing the entire folder to be overwritten, no merge was occurring. When I scrutinized the files being replaced more directly I realized that all of the romfs/data/text/nx folder was being deleted excited for the "vctimings.tbl" file. For anyone else doing SDcard management via your computer: make sure your OS is merging the files & not overwriting them. Played through the opening prologue w/o issues.

Since the 60FPS mod was mentioned in this thread: is there a way to get it running on an emulator? Namely Ryujinx, but curious about any options.

If you are using translation mod, you can just press R in title menu and enable 60 FPS.
Game is using internal FPS Lock, so turning vsync off or changing game speed won't work.

Doesn't seem that pressing or holding R at the title menu does anything (that's the screen which says "Press any button"?) - it just takes me to the New Game, Load Game, etc. I also tried click the right stick and pressing ZR, just to make sure I tried them all.

Yes, I do. Screenshot attached.
I also made sure the controller input has "R" mapped to the right shoulder on my controller ("R1" if this were a PS4).

This was confirmed to work only with joycons. Even though plugin on code level should support pro controller, it doesn't work and I don't have pro controller to test why it doesn't work

That did it! I switched the Ryujinx input from "Pro Controller" to "Joycon Pair" and the menu pops up! I've got 60FPS running now. Thank you so much for saying that, I don't think I'd have ever switched over to the Joycon option if you hadn't.
