Sorry to hear the issues still exist. I have no idea if the ethernet adapter could be causing issues but maybe try unplugging that, if you haven't already, to see if it makes any difference.

My suggestion or rather recommendation, is to buy a reliable SD card to use for everything besides large games (if you have the means). Large games would include Wii, GC, PCE CD, Sega CD, Neo CD, PS1 etc...being installed on HDD, with all other files booting straight from SD.

I have used many SD cards for many (75+) softmod setups with WFL running the show. SanDisk ImageMate is a solid card imo, i have 2 128 GB cards of my own that have stood the test of time, most recently using a Samsung 256 GB Pro Plus that is as good as anything i have used.

HDD or external hard drives are a crapshoot in my experience. Important they are taken care of but failure is inevitable regardless of brand. I have never used Toshiba, only WD and Seagate and have had at least 6-7 fail within 5-6 years of use. WD My Passport Ultra 2TB have been good to me, i still use 2 of these that are at least 10 years old for the Wii. WD My Passport Ultra 1TB works well after 6+ years of use but i use this for XONE. WD My Passport X 2TB has also been reliable but not used for Wii gaming. Lastly, i have a Seagate 500GB i bought in 2009 still working that rules over everything. I think maybe it is luck sometimes but i try to stick with what works.

I am curious what others use for SD and HDD and why? $Price$ is always a factor but reliability will always be most important. If/when others read this question, please give your input.

I use a 16GB card from Transcend for emulator games and homebrew. It was a compromise at the time. Has lasted for over 10 years. I use one of the first 250GB HDDs with P-ATA in an external enclosure for GC, WII and PS1 games. I only have games installed that I really want to play, so there's enough space left.

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with launching NES games with this plugin pack on my Wii U’s vWii. The ROMs are being loaded off of my SD card. Whenever I try to load an NES game, WiiFlow just crashes to the Wii Menu. I’ve tried with and without a forwarder and it always yields the same result.

I want to note I’ve only copied the NES-relevant files to the SD card, leaving out the ones for other systems but making sure I get all of the essential files that are needed to launch games from any given system.

Should be just FCEUGX
Drag & Drop these files onto your SD and replace when prompted.

Also a snap of the ini, you can see where the dol is expected....

Hey @RunningSnakes, What's the deal with the Atari XE Video Game System? I checked the 2 plugin files and they read .rom files so I unzipped them. WiiFlow reads them perfectly but I get a black screen on the retroarch plugin, the second plugin (WiiXL) says 'Sorry this program needs a real atari/os visit the web pages to find out more' What file am I needing here?

I was going to make a 3D Box Set for this console, for WiiFlow as there isn't one. But no point doing that until I actually get it working lmao

Using the RetroArch plugin, launch any XEGS game, when you get the black screen press Home on wiimote and select core options. Now scroll to Atari System click and select " Atari 130XE", now quit RA back to WFL and launch any XEGS game again. It should be working now.:)

Unfortunately. copying the files did not work. WiiFlow still crashes
I have never used a WiiU before, but I’m guessing it all works the same for vWii?

This may sound like a stupid question. But you haven’t got the SD Card in the locked position have you?

Just to clarify, I remember the same thing was happening to me years ago. WiiFlow was crashing cause I accidentally locked it. Have you tried any other NES Emulators to see if they work?

Nice one mate I’ll go give it a try. Is this something you have to do each and every time? There’s no auto boot? I think it’s time for a cover collection for Atari XE Video Game System, what do you think 😮‍💨🔥

No you only have to change the setting once and all games should boot properly.

I thought mastershoes had his XEGS set in the original covers thread? I'll check and get back...

,...yeah, the set is still there. Scroll down a ways to computer systems.

@RunningSnakes I think I need a good night's sleep, I could have sworn there wasn't a set there LMAO

I’m still stuck on a black screen, notice anything unusual?

Everything looks normal but i reverted back to 1.17.0 Atari 800 core because of sound issues. Maybe 1.19.0 compatibility dropped some too since the One on One game is booting fine for me. Are all your Atari XEGS roms hanging on black screen?

Here is the 1.17.0 core that replaced 1.19.0...

My SD card isn't locked. I checked FCEUGX and it seems to work on its own without WiiFlow, but when launching from WiiFlow it just doesn't work for some reason.

Ok. I have verified FCEU GX working AGAIN, this emulator has been updated recently, so the issue is definitely not the emulator itself.

You are using SD, you have not made changes to the .ini paths? Your roms are .zip or .nes correct? It is very difficult to help troubleshoot when vital information is not included.

I am assuming you downloaded the plugins pack and dropped it on your SD card correct? Then you placed your roms in the correct folder, which is evident since WFL recognizes the roms exist.

Now as the user, please check your settings and change them if need be. A major problem is, after issues are resolved or not, communication is silent with no intelligence offered.

I am willing to help as much as i can but if any user takes the plugin pack and drops it on SD, there should be NO issues. If there are, you have made mistakes.

I have not edited anything. For insurance reasons, I will re-add the entirety of the plugins pack again and update you.

The ROMs are in .nes format. I believe they are headered if that makes any difference.

For NES games i do not believe it should matter if the roms have headers although you may want to test an un-headered rom. As far as i remember Atari Lynx and Genesis/Mega Drive are the ony 2 i can recall that require specific rom dumps.

Thank you, please let me know how progress is going when you get some free time.

Hello friends, i have some good news to share. I have been testing the latest release of ScummVM for Wii (2.8.1) and it seems the cursor issue has been finally fixed without a workaround.

If you were not aware, the version included in the WFL plugins pack is quite outdated (2.2.0 nightly release) since it was the last know version to work properly for the Wii. Hopefully with more testing and good results this latest release can replace what we have.

If any of you reading this can test any games you have and post results, it would be very appreciated and helpful. Up to tis point, i have been testing outside of WFL but will start testing through WFL knowing the cursor disappearing issue seems to be fixed.

Thanks.
