The Game Awards airs tonight, with rumors actually suggesting Half-Life 3 will get announced

The Game Awards are taking place later today, and as always, you can expect to see some game announcements made during the show. This year, however, there's a little more fervor to it all. Jason Schreier, a known and trusted video game reporter for Bloomberg made a claim that this year's show will have announcements that will stun fans. Appearing on the Kinda Funny Games Daily show, Schreier teased that there will be some exciting reveals for games that are very far off from release, and that, "there will be at least two things that will make you guys react, and be like, 'holy sh*t, I can't believe this thing is here!' At least two things."

What jump-started even more excitement was when Nima Zeighami, the VP of product for Infinite Reality, stated that the rumor they were hearing from around the industry was that Valve's Gabe Newell would attend The Game Awards, and would be there to announce Half-Life 3. Zeighami elaborated that they don't believe it, but that was what was being rumored.

It'll have to be seen to be believed, and you can see if it's all marketing hype or not, when The Game Awards kicks off tonight at 4:30 pm PT/12:30 am GMT.

Shill Awards' only value is the new trailers
I can't wait to watch a bunch of advertisements with 2 minutes of awards in-between! :D
God I hate how they cut off acceptance speeches after less than a minute.
Still, for the sake of being unbiased, there have been some good moments. Like in 2015 when the host called out Konami for not letting Kojima accept the award

Kojima is a huge Ameriboo hack and responsible for Konami's situation because of his obsession with Hollywood budget "games". Konami kicking him out was the only thing Konami has done that period. Besides Kojima already had strong connections to immediately make his own big budget "games" the moment he left Konami, unlike IGA that only wanted to make a new Metroidvania games and yet no company would fund him which is why he had to resort to Kickstarter.

Actually, I don't think any information in this thread can be trusted.

Wild how completely untrue rumors can make front page news. Ever heard of quality control?

Guess what guys? Your rumors were wrong. Why have high hopes that a sequel to Half Life would get announced? Rumors and leaks are never ending ways to build up hype to people's hopes and dreams.
