I can't imagine a one month delay is for anything other than physical production purposes or not having that sweet Day 1 patch ready.

Meanwhile people who own a PS4/Slim/Pro with PS4 HEN can play the demo early, as well as omnislash mod for Switch

I might try this game's demo out. I put it on my system and just checked if it worked. however, I don't know how I feel about this remake. I mean the game is a classic, so it worries me what changes they have made.

And while this is true (it's obvious to everyone that SE has a problem with that), this is still the first time the game gets delayed.

I played the demo and you can set the combat to Classic when you start the game, they move and fight and dodge and guard automatically and you just pick the Magic/Skill inputs like turn based combat. It's very close to XII.

Hopefully A) they haven't chopped anything out (I've never played much of the original - I grew up with the PS2 and DS Lite, so I only got to play it two decades after its release, and it's so archaic now - but removing stuff for no justifiable reason should be a crime. Trust me, I know this, thanks to Game FrEAk's laziness and apathy), and B) the combined cost of however many episodes there are isn't too excessively high.

Maybe $30-$40 per episode, and once they're all out, it'd cost $80 or so for the complete package? Not a single cent over $99.99, though; inflation's already striking hard in other areas, and money's a tad tight for many people.

yeah, I don't like the episodic thing. I'm at the final dungeon in the switch final fantasy vii. I had beaten the game as a kid, but I remembered very little. I'm an old school gamer, so it's hard for me to see the remake in the same light. the original game looks pretty good on the switch (I think it's remastered), but I'm just afraid that they'll ruin the experience, relying mostly on graphics, with the remake.

Raise your hand if you're surprised.

No-one? That's what I thought.. Honestly, I wouldn't be that shocked if they just flat-out cancelled it.

It's not an indie game - in a way I hope they charge 100 quid for each episode tht way only people with a job could afford it and appreciate its worth-people should stop moaning about the price - it is what it is

True, it's not an indie game, but it's also not a complete experience - just some fraction of one. Therefore, it shouldn't carry the price tag of a complete experience; it should instead have the price of part of the complete package.

Also, restricting it so only "people with a job could afford and appreciate it" is also quite anti-customer; there's many people with minimum-wage jobs who work bloody hard for the meagre income and have to worry about rent, bills, and food shopping. Should these hard-working folks be prevented from playing a hopefully-fantastic game in their limited off-time due to the game's exorbitant price tag?
    No.
Games should cost <$100 at all times, and any extra transactions should be cheap too - <$10 (or the regional equivalent). This would allow the greatest number of people to be able to afford, experience, and (hopefully) enjoy each game. This includes reducing the price of those stupid "Silver", "Gold", "Platinum", "Deluxe", "Ultimate", or whatever editions that involve putting chopped-out sections of the game back in for inflated prices.

First, "triple AAA" is "AAAAAAAAA" - nine As. Oops.
Second, if you're sick of people talking the price of AAA games, then don't make it an issue by suggesting said price should be exorbitant. Instead, don't mention it whatsoever - in this case, since I'm the one who started the price tag issue, you shouldn't have replied, or if you wanted to reply, you should have written about another part of my post (such as how cutting out content for no justifiable reason should be a crime, or how Game FrEAk is Sithspawn).

Just...please don't look for trouble if you don't want any, and suggest something so stupid and customer-hostile when you do.

Mine is definitely IX - I have played quite a bit of it, but I didn't like how the party splits up for a significant part of the game. See, I like to make sure each member of my party has roughly equal XP when I play RPGs, and this becomes near-impossible when they're split up.
If it's only for a short amount of time, getting each member back to roughly equal XP isn't that much of a hassle (especially in RPGs where you can target your own party members with attacks); if it's for an extended period of time, like in Final Fantasy IX, doing so becomes much more of a headache.

From memory, I got up to where the knight smuggles the princess in a bag to enter a city. That's when I realised the party wouldn't be getting back together again for some further unknown amount of time, since they had already split up for some time, and just stopped.
I would've started again on the PC version (for easier save hacking), but that release lacks the extra 'cheats' the PS4 version has, so I decided against it.

It's by definition not a "full-blown" game. It's episodic. It's being released in chunks, not all at once. Therefore each chunk should not cost as much as the full release would have, and later will, cost.

Sure, each episode is likely much larger than normal episodic games, but it's still not worthy of the price tag of a complete game.
"Big arse episode" = 'some part of the overall finished game' = 'not complete'. Ergo, "big arse episode" ≠ 'complete game'. Therefore, "big arse episode" ≠ 'price tag of complete game'.

Think of it in simple terms - lets say it comes in 3 parts - FF7 FF8 FF9 just think of it like tht-ff7 remake equals 3 full games but sequels

I have a feeling people are just being lured in by graphics. it wouldn't be the first time, and square-enix is notorious for it. they've largely lost their flar
that's what ran me into trouble with octopath. I was trying to use the same party throughout the game, but each character's chapters require they be in your team.

ix is good. I'm at the final boss, but I still haven't beaten him. the status ailments he causes massacred my team. I'm going to try equipping something that blocks abnormalities.

also, speaking of ix, I ran into a book enemy in the library of the main castle, and I got destroyed by it. I just left it alone and continued on with the story. now that I'm at the end, I don't think there's any way to fight that book again. missables are about the only thing I don't like in certain rpgs. I'm not using any walkthrough or faq, just going on my own, so I've probably missed many things, not only that book.
