Forum Rules!

Please make the topic title you are creating descriptive, clearly reflecting the topic you are addressing. Do not make generic titles such as "Question", "I need help", or in full capitals, with an obscene amount of periods, exclamation marks, question marks, etc. These topics will probably go unnoticed, whereas a topic with a descriptive title will gain more interest.

Hes 100% exactly right, I have been reading about this for a while and the processes are definetly in motion to create this "Internet 2" that is completely closed off, restrictive and expensive, they will probably say its necessary to fight "terrorism" or some other manufactured boogieman.

Stupid new world order!

This is inevitable, capitalism trumps freedom. What kills me is the fact that people only seem to speak out or whine when their freedoms are in trouble. As I type this there are people who will die of hunger and curable diseases, I'm sure they wish their greatest worry was net-neutrality. My point is this, you can't be a miniature-rebel and expect the fundamentals of the world to change. You are fighting a system that isn't even aware of your existence, you are small, insignificant and easily placated. Unity is needed, in truth we and the ill Sudan child are suffering by the same iron claw (however disproportionately) and we can not end injustice by fighting for the Internet only. You end injustice by fighting for principles; and in principle the world is fucked up. It was fucked up last week, last year. It was fucked up before they tried to take your Internet and it will be fucked up far after. Wake up.

Well, think about it... If they were to set everything up the way he was talking about in that video... less people would actually pay for the internet, which means less people giving these companies money. These companies would not let that fly. They are too god damn money hungry as is. Making us pay EVEN MORE per month would cause a loss in business. Therefor the internet would die because too few people would pay for it. The internet would be gone.

That first video made me laugh my arse off at certain moments, including the Tom guy dressed up in white as an idiot.
"Read a book." "DOI?"
"No more porn?" *grabs gun and shoots self*

That's exactly what they said about cable TV, too.

People WILL pay fees when it becomes the only option.
This is made obvious by something as simple as the recent gas prices.
They went up to $5+ a gallon and everyone still paid. Because there was no other option and people are too lazy to walk or fight.

Am I the only one here who doesn't pay for cable since I don't watch that much TV in the first place?
When gas prices went up, I bought a bike and I haven't looked back. If they think I'll be paying more for internet, then well, I'm glad I stockpiled on games and music to last me a very long time. I'll just surf when I'm at work.

You still pay quite a bit more now than when cable first surfaced. From what my parents tell me there didn't used to be commercials, and the monthly cost is what supported the cable company. Obviously, that did not last.

Meh, I'm not too worried about Net Neutriality. People will find a way around it--they always do. Me? If it worries you so much then I suggest investing in a external harddrive and stocking up on any and all media that you need. Then you wont have to connect to the internet to manage your media.

**Didnt watch the videos, no sound on this pc.
