That was beautiful--not in how it looks, but in how it was executed. A few parts were lacking, but the rest was powerful.

God, I so hope they get it right this time. Morrowind was excellent, Daggerfall was better and Arena was just stunning for the time. Oblivion was just awful. Although the overall size of the land was actually bigger than Vvardenfell, it took me just over 3 hours of walking to get from one side to the other, during which time nothing really impeded me. "Towns" consisted of villages smaller that the village I live in IRL, and the imperial city felt smaller than Vivec. Dialog was wooden and mostly copy/paste across most of the NPCs. The main quest was dull and best avoided - some of the side quests were quite fun though.

The engine was buggy, and the physics engine seemed to be included just so you could roll a log at some goblins, as it wasn't used after that one set-piece. The NPC AI was abysmal and too easily abused, especially in the case of guards. All in all, I spent about three days finishing the main quest, one day on the Dark Brotherhood, and then uninstalled in disgust. Morrowind is still on my HDD, and gets played regularly.

I really, really want Skyrim to be good - but I'm terribly afraid that they've gone the same way they did with Oblivion and Fallout 3 - form (visuals) over function (gameplay). I suppose we'll have to wait and see, but from that trailer, it's not looking good

Wow. When the guy yelled at the dragon, I felt a chill of pure awesome run down my spine. Wowy wow! That's gotta be the best trailer I've seen before! I'm so psyched for the game now!

I liked Morrowind better than Oblivion, but Oblivion's still pretty great.

My hopes go out that Skyrim will be the best yet, and it certainly looks like that's the way it's gonna be!

Last time I checked, you don't say the word fap when your fapping.

I never played the first one. I'll probably get this one.

O.O you check for these things?
I'm attentive to little things like that which make a big difference to what your trying to say.

The asterisks indicate that an action is being performed, and words aren't being spoken. Back on topic however, hooooolllyyyyy shiiiit. That was incredible.

Yes but what he said before, i.e. All I can say is, indicates he is saying something.

too much discussion about fapping in here..

on topic:
Cant wait! Like Ace I never gave oblivion alot of time. It was just to... broken? I know thats not the right word but my complaints are the same as Ace's. By the time I got to play the game it was already pretty out of date and was too frustrating. Ive been waiting for an improved sequel for a while and this looks like i will get what I want!

Anyways, I loved Oblivion.
Alot more than Fallout 3.
Oblivion is probably my favorite current gen game.

He was about to say something, but the urge to fap overcame him apparently.

I was going to comment earlier on HOW FUCKING EXCITED I AM FOR THIS GAME, until I saw all of the discussion of fapping. Seriously guys? Just enjoy the trailer.

This looks totally awesome. And the running totally reminds me of the camera-simulated natural-ness from Mirror's Edge. It totally felt like parkour. That'd be awesome if parkour was possible in this game

I don't suppose anybody could link me to some music as epic as what starts at 1:09

I know that the guy who made the wonderful music of Oblivion is Jeremy Soule, I even downloaded the Oblivion OST.
So you can definitely find some epic music of Oblivion on warez forums or so. I don't know if Jeremy Soule is again composing for Skyrim, you should search who made it and maybe you'll find the name of the song or so.

From what people say pvp isn't even worth it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

If you can find enough for it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

I bet most people at the time still watched it in black and white
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why they listed inflation rates

    Sorry didnt read that part
