O.k so you've had your R4DS for a couple of days or weeks as the case may be but are you happy with your purchase? Do you have any problems with it? Is it too simple to use? Would you like more options? Have you found yourself booting to slot two more than playing from slot one? Just let me/us know your impressions of the card please.

I love it. Download play works for the games Ive tried. Mario Kart works too!!! I haven't tried doing WFC because i dont have a wi-fi card. Aside from that, it rocks. I'm really glad I waited a bit to get a cart. I LOVE this purchase!!

The M3 was photoshopped into that picture of Osama frolicking with the teletubbies.

edit: Actually, it looks more like the M3 was MS Painted into the pic.

The R4 has surpassed my expectations. I've had absolutely no problems playing any of the DS games that I've gotten, and that's what I got the card for.

And as an added bonus, homebrew support has been coming along pretty nicely with the dldi patching.

And as an aside, I would LOVE a GPS/googlemaps program. I do a lot of traveling for work, and it would help me out a lot. Does anybody know if something like that is in the works?

Err, M3 owns the R4's factory. Therefore the R4 is an indirect product of M3. the R4 team isn't an independent supplier to M3 as many people think. But anyways, I haven't recieved my R4 yet, haven't checked the PO box.

Edit: since my crystal ball predicts at least one fanboy response telling me to shut up in regards to the M3 created R4 comment, I'll post my source:

i thought it was the other way around ? i thought R4DS made the m3

according to the rountable discussion here http://gbatemp.net/index.php?dynamic=34

    costello wrote this

"It's actually the R4 team that manufactures the hardware for both R4 and M3. The hardware only. The software is designed by their respective teams."

The R4 is great. A few things that could be made better on the GUI and also being able to boot to the main DS screen would be handy to play GBA roms. As for booting DS roms I can't fault it at all and at the end of the day thats all we've all bought it for.

Yep, some people just don't know what they're talking about, and for this particular dude "FifthE1element", it's not the first time.

So he was wrong? That's strange, he's usually pretty trustworthy. I can't see why he would lie. Then again, it makes no difference to me. All I want is DHL to hurry up and deliver my R4. The same city and it's taking three days >_> they must not work on weekends.

    Priceless

I've had my R4DS for about a week now and I gotta say it's one of the best backup solutions I've used. They've not been this easy since the days of the Magicom/Pro Fighter! No messing about, I can keep copies of all the carts on I own on one card so no wear and tear on the cartridge port and no fiddling about changing them and no patching. Plus as the homebrew is being updated to run I can now use DSOrganize, listen to MP3s and watch movies.

Don't know how it compares to the M3 (it's the same product but how's the firmware support?) but it's definitely the better of the other Slot 1 cards.

Oh right. At first glance, I thought Osama was photoshopped into a picture of the teletubbies gathered around a floating M3.

So far I have only one complaint about my R4DS, and it ain't PoR [IMG] I've noticed that my DS is constantly out of batteries when I pick it up after I've left it on standby for hours, which I do ALL the time with my real carts. I haven't had it long enough to verify, but my guess is that the R4DS draws far more power than a real cart while in standby, even if during normal use it's about the same. Still, I'm glad to have standby support.

Anyone else seen this and care to confirm my suspicions? Battery life during usage and standby would be a great metric to measure in future Slot 1 reviews.
