I backed this game, and the delays have been frustrating. Especially the last one which was supposedly to fix multiplayer - a feature I'll likely never use. To make matters worse, I want the 3ds version, which they're saying will be released later than the other versions, but I really just want it on my handheld. Haven't even really messed with the demo. Sigh, I've waited this long, I figure I might as well keep waiting to get the platform I want.

Overhyped? What universe do you live in. People have been shitting on this game for about 95% of the development.

The game is basically ruined if you can't turn off the combo clutter on the screen. It also looks too easy. I'll still try it though. Trailers have always be a horrible showcase of what a game is like.

Also they might've wanted to spend a bit of that budget hiring someone actually funny to do the trailer. Cringy is a generous description.

EDIT: oh and by the way, if you're offended by the anime fan joke...it's probably because it was accurate, sorry m8s. It was a lame joke but I wasn't even mildly offended by it, why would I have been? Why would anyone? This generation is way too sensitive.

I was laughing at it from inception (they wanted how much to make a full game? Accounting exists, people) and throughout (see anything they did) but I am man enough to admit I was wrong. Looks like I am finally going to be able to play a ReBoot game

On the anime fans thing then three things come to mind
1) Hahaha people got offended by that?
2) There is a line of logic that says know your market, American (does anywhere else take prom seriously?) anime fans would doubtless make up a significant part of that.
3) Who cares as they already gave you the money you are going to get.

Talking from the point of view of a disappointed backer that is quite probably sugarcoating things for the sake of what is left of his psychological health.

I was really offended by the trailer. It is not the "anime fans"-joke, that is just another bad joke, not the worst part of the trailer. The trailer is bad, very bad.
And I am not talking about the early PS2 gfx or the pizza explosions, they look tasty and I can totally put with it -if the gameplay is good-. (but is it?)
The problem is that damn narrator that treats you as a wannabe bully brain-dead child from the 90s.
And I mean, probably we were wannabe bullies brain-dead children in the 90s, but that is not cool anymore, that is a PoS that is better hiding under a stone and forgetting for ever.
I suppose the narrator is trying so hard in a horrible way to cast a nostalgic effect on that horrifying you-idiot wanna-be-cool era of agressive SEGA advertisment. But there are things better buried and forgotten to oblivion. The trailer fails, and it fails hard.

I still hope the gameplay is good, the different videos around make me think it could be the case (you are sugarcoating idiot), so well... I will wait a couple more... weeks?... really?... are you not going to delay again?
Oh no, please stop! It has been enough suffering already. Lancer got a better life than this!

Its better not to trust the youtube. Wait until its release then playing it to find the accurate decision if its worth or not.

I agree that this looks like a massive disappointment. It looks like a game that should be bundled free with a Linux distro. And the voiceover on the trailer was beyond annoying.

I didn't back the game, so I voted I don't care. The game doesn't look very good, but I do like the dashing.

People getting offended over a dumb joke about anime fans is just dumb. Get a sense of humor, and this is coming from an anime fan.
I didn't back it either but it doesn't mean it isn't still disappointing. You can buy a game you didn't back, you know. At least most of the time.

Gameplay looks great. I'm not looking to Mega Man-esque games for fantastic graphics, just fun gameplay. And Mighty No. 9 looks like it has fantastic gameplay, even if the narrator in the trailer does nothing for you. Frankly I don't find him nearly as cringe as so many others do, but even if I did, I'd just look past that, because the marketing for a game is not necessarily representative of the actual fun one will have with the game, and clearly that is true here. Watching that trailer and disregarding the narration, all I see is the fun game I'd been looking for in a successor to Mega Man.

OK, so a new trailer that came out for Mighty No.9 last week is getting a lot of hate for making a joke that offended some anime fans. But what I'm disappointed is that, this game had a TON of delays, and it looks pretty rushed and the graphics look pretty bad....I'm just disappointed in how over hyped this game seems to be. But I still have hope it could be fun.

The cringy trailer:

What do you guys think?

<snip>

So...? That just gives room for improvement.

How in the fucking hell does it look rushed? And how are those graphics bad?! Look what type of game it is, dude. You're like those people who are like, "If it's not running at 60fps, 1080p, and looks good for PC standards, ,8 years from now, it just looks liek sheeeeet". Don't be that guy. The graphics aren't bad at all. AT all. <snip>

God damn rant over. Time for a xanax.

Woah, that trailer stinks of "90's cool kid" advertisements. You know, the kind you'd see at your local Blockbuster while picking up the latest season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer?

The graphics look horrible (for something that's supposed to be "next gen"), the narration is supposed to mimic those adverts from way back in the day, and I've never had a good experience with Mega Man (don't get me wrong, I like the Megaman series, it's just hard to play)....

And I just got burned with a kickstarter project the other day. The project creator promised a grade 5 titanium tool, and what I got was a steel tool (is magnetic) and a promise to give back my money. *sigh*
