    Pandora battery

In summary, a collaboration of many of the well known devs in the Psp homebrew scene

    Adrahil
    Booster
    Cswindle
    Dark_AleX
    Ditlew
    Fanjita
    Joek2100
    Jim
    Mathieulh
    Nem
    Psp250
    Skylark
    TyRaNiD

have managed to create a program that can transform any standard Psp battery into a Jigkick. This battery allows us to acces the psp Service mode allowing us to unbrick any Psp. Only Idstorage problems cannot be fixed with this method but those are quite rare.

    What ?!
    Nobody replied to this topic..

Well.. I heard about this an hour ago.. really good news.
Again we see that everything can be hacked/cracked.
Anyway, respect to those guys, really!

Do you think they have some insiders in their C+D Team ?? :-\
'Qause trial&error isn't a good method to test this when working on such thing [IMG]
    They should've known something..

Fantastic news for PSP owners (sold mine long ago).

There are some very talented guys in the PSP scene. I mean seriously talented buggers. I'm sure they have £15+ph jobs somewhere coding something [IMG]

Amazing news! Although I never bricked one myself (and I downgraded quite some of them). [IMG]

It fits, but not under the original cover. So it will stick out (not like you need it after downgrading/unbricking)

After seeing this news I remembered that I had an old Psp that got bricked years ago just left in a box. I just used this method to unbrick it back to 1.5 firmware just now and it works perfectly.

This hack is major and they would have waited to release it after the Psp slim had been in circulation but again they were forced to release it earlier because some idiot leaked the code. Groups from China were starting to use this and planning to sell each jigkick for $60. The Dev team released it early and for free partly to counter the greedy thieves.

I don't know if this will work on the Psp slim but it might work on early models but surely the slim will blacklist any firmware apart from the current one and above.

Note: This method will run on any current Psp regardless of whether it has been bricked or not.

EDIT: Reliable sources state that the jigkick method successfully worked on a Dev Unit of the new Psp slim that was upgraded direct to M33 3.52 as opposed to 1.5 firmware. Also Dark Alex also talks about the possibility of using this method to boot Custom firmwares without actually using the 1.5 kernel.

    Wow! This is great!

So I can just buy a PSP, make a jigstick (or what was it again) with a homebrew program, buy another accu (to actually use it [IMG]) and I can just upgrade the PSP and such, and do whatever I want with it, I can brick it and such... and I can just use this accu to restore the entire system to firmware 1.5?

If I understand correct, Sony can't fix this with updates of the firmware in the future... That rocks! I think I'll buy a PSP now. Or at least a accu of it [IMG] I can let someone with a PSP use the program on it and just save the accu for the future, so I can buy a PSP in a few years [IMG]

I'm pretty sure that sony doesn't want to make same mistake what they did with original psp.
So i would think that it's hard to get homebrew run on it. But who knows. I haven't really followed any news on psp lite, because i have the original psp anyway. :S
