Apart from the initial freeze mentioned above, 3 hours into the game and no more freezing (with UNEEK+DI).

I am not really interested in this game but USB loaders programmers must find a solution for this anti-piracy protection. From now on,it is extremelly possible that every Ubisoft game will utilize this and also Rayman Origins is around the corner...

100% agree with you. Ubisoft probably gonna use the same protection in Rayman Origins. It would be a shame not be able to play that game. :(

    Dear all,
I believe to have found a solution for the TinTin freeze problem :

*** EDIT 11/30 : unfortunately, after more testing, below trick turned out to be not successful ***

    1) What's the problem ?

TinTin, when played from USB, will freeze when some level ends or you were been killed

    2) Reason

Seemingly TinTin is using some new ("MegaFortress" ?) protection.

According to http://gbatemp.net/t...page__st__14790, the game checks if below files do exist :

    usb:/wbfs/GAMEID.wbfs
    usb:/wbfs/GAMEID.iso
    usb:/wbfs/GAMEID.ciso
    usb:/wbfs/TITLE[GAMEID]/GAMEID.xxx
    usb:/wbfs/GAMEID_TITLE/GAMEID.xxx

(unfortunately, there is currently no other method to store the game other than that ...)

    3) Solution / Workaround

Seemingly, the game does not check it's "actual" GAMEID, but only (hardcoded) it's "known" GAMEID, which is "STNP41" (PAL version).

-> So, the simple solution is to change the GAMEID.

    4) What do you need ?

4.1.) The game in .ISO format

    4.2.) WiiBackupImageEditor

    http://www.nubecoder...ImageEditor.rar
This is based on WII ISO Gametitle Renamer (http://gbatemp.net/t...etitle-renamer/)

    4.3.) WiiBackupManager

    http://www.wiibackup....tk/latest.html
(Assuming, you like to convert your existing game from WBFS to ISO and later back again from ISO to WBFS).

    5) What has to be done ?

    5.1. Change GameID

Run WiiBackupImageEditor, open the (TinTin) ISO, and change it's GAMEID from "STNP41" to e.g. "KTNP41".

5.2. Copy the "ID-changed" game to your Wii USB disk
    • If you like to keep a physical copy and you own a Wii capable to read DVDs,
      • on your PC, burn the ISO to DVD
      • on your Wii, load that DVD to your Wii USB disk using your USB Loader
    -or-
    • If you don't need any physical copy
      • connect you USB disk to your PC
      • on your PC, convert the "ID-changed" ISO to WBFS and copy it to your USB disk
      • connect your USB disk again to your Wii

    5.3. Tweak USB Loader information

As the changed GAMEID is not known "in public" (gametitle, covers) you will have to tweak your USB Loader a bit.

Assuming you're using Cfg USB Loader, you have to
    • enter the GameTitle to ":\usb-loader\custom-titles.txt", e,g, "KTNP41 = Die Abenteuer von Tim und Struppi: Das Geheimnis der Einhorn"
    • change the (already downloaded) coverfiles in ":\usb-loader\covers\" and below ("3d\", "disc\", "full\", etc.) from "STNP41.png" to the name chosen in 5.1 (e.g. "KTNP41.png")
Have fun with (USB-loaded) TinTin !

    Greetings from Vienna.

Are you 100% sure the game works fine now? Did you have a 100% working way to produce the crash and now it doesn't crash anymore? If yes, there might be a way to fix this for good without needing a workaround.

    PS: "der"???

    Hello WiiPower,
I can confirm that there was a freeze when "dying" or "level close", which is not the case any longer since I deleted usb:/wbfs/STNP41.wbfs

Ah ... and yes, it's indeed "der", as "Einhorn" is the name of the ship.

    Have a nice evening.

Sorry to bother you, but i'm not convinced, i need more info before i can do something. Maybe you are hours into the game now, but also maybe you just tested if the game works, and you got lucky, while you are not in the slightest interested in actually playing the game.

    Dear all,
after having spent more time playing, I have to tell much to my regret, that freezes are still there ...

So, there must be more than just checking the existence of the game on USB disk.

    cheered to soon ... sorry

Sorry to say WiiPower and me were right. :(
We discussed about that on chat and we both were not convinced.
