It really depends on location though, some cities just have god awful tap water that filters just don't help, or are more of a hassle/cost than just buying some water bottles. My particular area is one such place, we do use water filters on our taps with water bottles and such, but the water here is bad enough that I have to replace them every other month because of how bad they get. With our particular filter that's a good $120 a year on filters (at $20 for 2, 6 times a year), vs $70 a year on water bottles.

We end up buying a couple cases of water bottles a month, and then bring the empties to a recycling center just up the road every month or two to make sure they aren't tossed in landfills.

Assuming you believe that and can't dismiss it as a scare story designed for the gullible then what about a glass or aluminium container?

Please. Apple would have made the output slower as the, naturally unreplaceable, battery entered the "user's wallet too fat" phase, possibly did some water testing and now we are going to get the fanboys descend, and if you thought the OP had some odd ideas about how the world works...

We had to throw out something like four cases of Crystal Geyser bottled water that were delivered to my work because it stunk like Pine-Sol. Never again with that rank-ass swill. I assume we got a batch after some mold or other contamination cleanup.

Apple would tell you the bottle is water damaged and make you pay for a replacement bottle and replacement water.

Bacteria exists all around you, it exists naturally in your body, just because there is bacteria in the water doesn't mean it's dirty. There are good bacteria and bad bacteria, the stuff that's in your tap water won't harm you, unless you live in a place where you're specifically told not to drink the tap water. Tap water has (most places) been filtered and sanitized to be safe for drinking. Bottled water is just a waste of money.

I know how you feel, even though our water is clean and safe, it still tastes rank thanks to all of the chemicals they use to make it clean and safe. Not to mention the impurities it picks up.

I invested in a distiller, takes about a couple of hours to do 4L, but totally worth it, it tastes so much nicer than straight from the tap and removes far more impurities than a filter. And if you saw all of the crap that was left behind when it’s done, you’d never touch tap water again

Yes but it totally depends on the location, in Qatar or Egypt you absolutely shouldn't drink water from the tap.
