This is great for me, I'm excited.

But I can hear it now.. " I thought I was supposed to go first, thats why I didnt kill my game right away"
"but it was me and this other dude not you this round, why did you use that item, it messed us both up"

I think it should be mandatory to set up an AIM/MSN/ICQ/irc room chat with a staff member before each game + the 4 players, so everyone is clear as to the 2 players who play first and the 2 players who play second.Â

(instant disqualification to those who dont show up to the chat), this would save some playing time,

There was more to the post, but I think that it's not possible for EVERYONE to be in a chat if they have to be somewhere else to access their wi-fi. Sitting in a chat room makes things CRAZY easier for everyone (as someone who's done both), but it really needs to be clarified before the match.

If people can't check their topics and say, "hey I'm A" and, "hey I'm B" etc. let's fight, the other two ref - we've got a problem. They said they're grouping in pairs then just telling two pairs to join one game... that should minimize crap.

Maybe I'm blind, but when / how do we find out who else is in our ABCD grouping? Are you guys putting the ladders together now.  Maybe I just missed it.

I think they mentioned somewhere that they will put up the pairs on the weekend (tomorrow)

I think they said something to the nature of "YOU vs Steve" "Bill vs Ron" and winners more on. So you are forced to face steve first.

One problem I discovered is that when four people battle, let's say ABC and D players. If player A gets a tetris Player B gets all the garbage blocks. But if player B gets a tetris, Player C! get's all the garbage blocks. So I think one rule for the spectators is that they immitiately kill themselves. Before people are able to clear even 2 lines.

Once player A and C (for say) are eliminated B's garbage goes to D and vice versa so it will work fine. It will be just a matter of the spectators giviging up immidiately. (I make combos fast)

They said in the first post with the rules that two of the players will have to forfeit immediately, that's the point of playing only in pairs. That way, they can be the refs. Since pressing up is the fast way to slam your blocks, *most* people shouldn't have a problem. Then again, I bet at least one person will mess this one up good.

Using the example "YOU vs. Steve" and "Bill vs. Ron," yes you are forced to face Steve first... but isn't that the point of being in a (sort of) bracketed tourney? I wasn't sure if you were stating a problem or just commenting on it. It's just having a one on one match with refs - TWO people to confirm the results, and the use of items

you know what?
nothing prevents you from finding an agreement with your opponent to play more games...
if the people that are in your game (your opponent + the refs because the refs will have to wait till you're done playing) agree to play more than 2 games, then fine, we have no way to control it anyway.
But in any case, if you can't find an agreement with all 4 players, the default number of wins will be 2.

Jul13oSSx's speaking :
As stated before, a lot of people ( if not Everybody ) would like to play more games .
can't you just put the default number of wins to 3 at least ?

I'd assume the first rules as stated here still apply, other than those that have changed as mentioned in later rules threads
QUOTE said:
...2. Concerning Players:
  * If any player gets disconnected during a match; said player will be eliminated no matter what the reason is.. This is not open to debate and it is your duty as a participant to stay connected with the utmost minimum of lag.
  * If for some reason 2 or 3 players disconnect during a match, leaving a 3rd or 4th player behind, the one remaining player wins the match. There is also no need for that player to finish the game.
  * If a player doesn't attend a match for any reason; they're disqualified.

Thanks for the answer, but can we know WHO disconnects? I think not...please shed me some light
